If you are overwhelmed and panicking, pray through these three Bible promises, and the Lord will comfort you. He will take care of you and protect you, no matter what your situation!From His Presence Inc.
Day 1
Scripture: 1 John 4:18-19
Prayer 1: Comfort Me with Your Perfect Love
If you feel panicked right now, our Heavenly Father God is with you. He loves you very much, and He knows exactly how you feel. He is ready to comfort you with His love right now if you will let Him.
The Bible says that God’s perfect love casts out fear. Panic and fear are related to each other, so pray first for God to make you perfect in His love.
Your prayer doesn’t have to be long. Remember, God loves you and is right there with you. You don’t have to pretend with Him. Just cry out to Him for help, and He will hear you.
Pray this short prayer right now:
“Father God, I’m so overwhelmed. I’m panicking, and I can’t handle this. Please help me. Make me perfect in Your love right now. Help me to feel Your love, Your presence, and Your watch-care over me.
Lord, please help me feel Your arms holding me right now. Comfort me with Your perfect love. Calm me down; give me peace; and show me that You are with me. Help me, Father, I pray in Jesus’ name.”
Friend, after you pray that simple prayer, stop for a moment and set your thoughts on Jesus and His love.
You will begin to feel His peace settling over you as You meditate on His love. As you settle, breathe out your thankfulness to our Father, who knows you best and loves you most. He is with you to help you.
Day 2
Scriptures: 2 Corinthians 12:9, Matthew 28:20
Prayer 2: Let Your Strength Be Made Perfect In My Weakness
If you are fighting off panic, it’s okay to be completely transparent with God. You should be vulnerable and transparent with Him always! He will still love you with 100% of His love, and sharing your heart with Him will help stabilize your emotions. This is simply called “casting your cares upon the Lord.”
Our comforting Scripture today, 2 Corinthians 12:9, talks about how God’s grace is sufficient for you because His strength is made perfect in your weakness. So, if you’re swamped …
If you have more things coming at you than you can handle …
Then you are relatively weak compared to those stressors … but God’s strength will cover for you.
If you feel too overwhelmed to function, cast your cares upon the Lord by praying like this:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I have nothing to offer. I can’t handle anything right now. Too many things are coming at me all at once, and I’m only one person. I need rest and help, and I’m panicking because I can’t handle any of it. I don’t even want to handle it anymore; it’s too much.
Father God, in the name of Jesus, please help me. Come up under me in tangible ways, and let me feel Your everlasting arms. Manifest Your all-sufficient grace to me.
Lord, I pray that Your strength would be made perfect in my weakness. I may feel weak, but You are strong. Let Your grace be a tangible force in my life right now, I pray.
Thank You, Father God. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
After you pray, rest assured that the Lord will help you.
You may not know how it can possibly happen, but all that the Lord needs you to do will get done. He will help you. He will send you help from other people, move projects around, extend deadlines, calm you down, comfort you, and give you the motivation to handle your day … and even help you enjoy it.
Rest in Jesus, beloved. Know that we can do nothing without Him … but that He is with you always, even to the end of the world.
Day 3
Scriptures: Philippians 4:19, James 1:5-8
Prayer 3: Father, Please Supply All I Need
When you’re so stressed and overwhelmed that you get into a panic, you have very specific needs. For example, in general:
- You need help;
- You need comfort;
- You need strength;
- You need wisdom to know what to do;
- You need to feel God’s perfect love, which casts out all fear;
- You need peace and calm;
- You may even need quietness and solitude to find peace again.
No matter what you need at this moment, the Lord will help you.
Whether you’re overwhelmed with work, school, children, marriage, finances, or anything else, He will supply both your tangible and physical needs and your intangible emotional, mental, and spiritual needs.
If you’re in a panic today, pray like this—and make the words your own as needed:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I need You right now. I need help. Thank You that You’re listening to me right this moment and You’re going to help me.
Father, please supply all I need:
- I need You to take this load off me. Relieve my burdens, I pray, in Jesus’ name.
- I need You to comfort me and calm me down.
- I need You to provide money for my many financial needs, which are too heavy for me to bear.
- I also need rest for my body, soul, and spirit.
- And I need to finish the things that You want me to do.
Lord Jesus, I give You all these things. I release them to You.
Please, give me wisdom at this moment. Show me what to say ‘yes’ to and when to say ‘no.’ Help me offload and delegate some of these responsibilities. Provide for me abundantly as I rest and trust in You.
Lord, please forgive me for any way that I have tried to be everything to everyone. I’m sorry for any way I have taken on too much. Please convict me if I have done this, and help me not to do it again. Please help me to begin protecting healthy boundaries for myself from this moment forward.
Thank You, Father. I give all my cares, worries, and inadequacy to You. Without You, I can do nothing; but I can do all things through Jesus Christ, who strengthens me. Please work through me both to will and to do for Your good pleasure.
I claim Your promise that You who began a good work in me will be faithful to complete it. Thank You. I give You all the praise. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.”
Friend, no matter what situations have overwhelmed you today, our Lord Jesus Christ is with you. His Spirit is comforting you right now.
He will supply all you need. Pause for a few moments and cast your specific cares upon Him, for He cares for you. Remember to keep on praying these three prayers to ward off panic every day if you need to do so. The Lord will lead you and guide you every moment as you cling to Him, and He will bring you out into a safe place.
