Day 1

Scripture: Colossians 3:14

Welcome to your seven-day guided prayer devotional for praying for your wife. These prayers are short, rooted in the Bible, and meant to meet your heart as you pray for the woman God entrusted to you.

For a deeper dive in this seven-day guide, take time to sit with the scripture at the end of each prayer. Write down your thoughts and speak God’s truth over your marriage aloud. God and His word are the only things powerful enough to change people at a heart level.

Personalize your prayers:

· Say your wife’s name in place of “wife”.

· Write down the day’s prayer in a journal and add your specific prayer requests for the topic.

The hope behind this plan is that these short prayers and scriptures will cause you to lean into Jesus, trust the Lord with your wife’s life, and stir the desire to continue intentionally praying for her beyond these seven days.

You will find a daily challenge at the end of each days prayer. Some days it will feel difficult to carry these challenges. Yet, in these moments when we choose obedience to God over our feelings, our hearts are drawn closer to The Lord and your wife.

______

Loving Her Well

Lord, I pray that my heart is reverent to you and your truth as I lead my wife. Jesus, increase in me the desire to love my wife deeply and in the way you have commanded: to love her the way Christ loves His church. I pray that she would feel pursued, adored, and honored by me. May she see outwardly that I’m thankful for the opportunity to steward her heart. I pray that she would experience your love in an undeniable way today. In Jesus’ name, amen.

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. Colossians 3:14 ESV

Day 1 Challenge: Leave a note for your wife telling her 3 things you love about her.

Day 2

Scripture: Ephesians 5:25-27

Leading Her Well

Heavenly Father, I pray that I would have a heart that desires to lead my family and put you first. God, I thank you for entrusting my wife to me, this is a high and holy calling, one I never want to overlook. As I grow in leading her, I pray that she would see my desire to be head of the home. I pray for my heart to be obedient, accountable, and willing to surrender my plans as I walk firmly where you call me and my family. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. Ephesians 5:25-27 NIV

Day 2 Challenge : At dinner tonight pray something specific over your wife that The Lord lays on your heart.

Day 3

Scripture: Psalms 143:10

Kingdom Woman

Lord, I ask that you would stir up in my wife’s heart a deep desire to serve you and your kingdom. I pray my wife would feel supported and encouraged by me as she walks obediently to where you call her. Lord, I trust you with her life and the plans you have for her. May we stay in step with the Spirit together. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Teach me to do your will, for you are my God! Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground! Psalm 143:10 ESV

Day 3 Challenge: Serve your wife in a small way today. Prep her morning coffee, pick up her favorite treat or get a small bundle of flowers to let her know that you’re thinking of her.

Day 4

Scripture: Romans 12:9-10

Cover of Protection

Lord, I ask that you would cover my wife with a hedge of protection. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that the gates of hell shall not prevail against our marriage. Please give us both the desire to live, first and foremost, to honor you, and secondly, to honor one another in the way you’ve called us. Lord, I rebuke the lies and insecurities the enemy tries to feed her. May our marriage always be a place where my wife feels safe and secure. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Romans 12:9-10 NIV

Day 4 Challenge: Honor your wife by honoring your time with her. Ditch the phones and ask her to watch a favorite movie or play a favorite game this evening.

Day 5

Scripture: Psalms 139:13-14

Healthy in Body & Spirit

Lord, I ask that you would bless my wife with a long, healthy life. I pray that she values her body, both spiritually and physically. I pray that she sees herself the way you see her, wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works. I ask that my wife would feel desired by me and believe the truth that she is beautiful. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. Psalm 139:13-14 ESV

Day 5 Challenge: Ask your wife to join you on a walk this evening and ask her to share about the things that are stirring in her heart.

Day 6

Scripture: Psalms 91:11

Her Trust in You

Lord, I come before you today and ask that my wife would fully trust you. I pray she would hand over to you the areas she struggles with. Jesus, I pray that she would know you see her, you hear the cries of her heart, and you desire to reveal yourself to her. In seasons where she feels stressed, overlooked, or insecure, I pray she will sense your presence filling her with your peace. May your love feel near to her today and every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11 ESV

Day 6 Challenge: Send your wife a message letting her know that you are praying for her.

Day 7

Scripture: Mark 10:8

Christ-Centered Intimacy

Lord, I come before you and ask that you would bless the intimacy between my wife and me. I pray the most sacred and humbling part of our marriage would be a blessing to both of us. I ask that my wife would feel pursed and desired by me. I pray that our hearts would feel closer and desire to be more intentional in this area together. This gift is where two physically become one in the flesh and I pray we never forget that. In Jesus’ name, amen.

And the two shall become one flesh. So they are no longer two but one flesh. Mark 10:8 ESV

Day 7 Challenge: Intentionally pursue your wife today. Greet her with a hug and a kiss. Let her know that you desire intimacy with her emotionally and physically.
