Day 1
Scriptures: John 15:5, Isaiah 40:29, Ephesians 3:16
God Is Your Power Source
Your life in Christ is not a do‑it‑yourself project. In other words, you are not left on your own to solve your problems or meet life’s challenges in your own strength. God is with you. He is your Source.
As you grow in your personal relationship with God—spending time talking with Him and studying His Word—you progressively learn to look to God at all times, leaning on His strength rather than your own. You begin to understand that He is your unfailing Provider.
Because God is always with you, you have access to everything you need to be victorious in life. Peace, joy, confidence, strength, wisdom, and all the fruit of the Spirit—it’s all available to you in Christ Jesus.
Today’s Thought:
Instead of wondering, How am I going to get everything done? or How am I going to figure this problem out?, ask God for His help, strength, and guidance. Trust Him to be your Source.
Prayer Starter:
Father, thank You for providing all the strength and grace I need today. Please help me trust that You’re working on the situations where I still have a need, and that You’re always with me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Day 2
Scriptures: Romans 5:3-4, Isaiah 30:18, Ecclesiastes 3:11
God’s Perfect Timing
God has a tremendous plan for each of our lives, and He wants to greatly bless us. However, He may not bless our circumstances beyond the level of our spiritual maturity.
For example, I prayed for years for my ministry to grow. But if God had given me everything I wanted before I was spiritually mature enough, it would have hurt me because I wouldn’t have had the godly character and strength to handle it all. It may sound strange, but now I am so grateful for the hard times when I had to wait on God’s timing, because they’ve helped bring me to where I am today.
When you feel like things aren’t happening the way you want, when you want, I encourage you to trust God’s perfect timing. He knows what you can handle, and He always has your very best interest in mind.
Today’s Thought:
God is preparing you for the plan He has for you.
Prayer Starter:
Father, please help me grow and cooperate with what You’re doing in my life. Thank You for orchestrating the timing of everything You have for me, and for preparing me so I’ll be able to handle each new level of responsibility. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Day 3
Scriptures: Philippians 4:11-12, 1 Timothy 6:6-8
Continually Content
One of our goals as Christians should be to say with the apostle Paul, “I have learned to be content . . . regardless of my circumstances.” Paul goes on to say that he had learned how to be satisfied to the point where he was not disturbed whether he had abundance or was in need (see Philippians 4:12). That is the picture of godly contentment!
Being content does not mean that we never want to see any change or that we have no vision for better things, but it does mean that we are not allowing the things we want and don’t have yet to steal the enjoyment of what we have at the present time. The more time we spend with God, focusing on His goodness and thanking Him for His promises, the more content we will be with all that He has done—and is going to do—in our lives.
Today’s Thought:
One of the most important things you can learn to do is to enjoy where you are on the way to where you are going.
Prayer Starter:
Father, please give me the grace to learn how to be content, even before I have what I’m waiting for. Thank You for bringing about Your best for me, and for Your peace in the meantime. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Day 4
Scriptures: Psalms 30:11, 1 Thessalonians 2:20, Isaiah 29:19
The Source of True Joy
It brings incredible joy when you embrace the truth that you are a forgiven and adored child of God. So why are so many Christians sad, frustrated, and miserable?
I believe it is because they do not understand the reality of being a child of God and the inheritance that is ours in Him. An obstacle or difficulty distracts them, and they simply forget the promises of God for their lives. This is the quickest way to live a sad life instead of a glad life.
Jesus did not die to give you a discouraged, defeated, “down” life—He is your glory and lifter of your head (see Psalm 3:3). God has given you everything you need to enjoy Him, to enjoy yourself and the life He has given you. So, look up today. Celebrate His goodness and His blessings in your life. You are a child of the King . . . let that fill your heart with joy!
Today’s Thought:
Joy is independent of your circumstances. True joy is found in knowing Christ and the hope that He offers us. Take hold of His promises and walk in gladness, regardless of the circumstances around you.
Prayer Starter:
Father, thank You for paying such a high price for me to be able to embrace and enjoy my life. Please help me remember and walk in the peace and strength You’ve given me. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Day 5
Scriptures: Philippians 4:13, Matthew 19:26, Romans 12:21, 1 John 5:4
Overcoming the Impossible
Never assume that where you’ve been or where you are is as good as it gets. And when your goal or your situation seems impossible, keep in mind that nothing is impossible for God. In Matthew 19:26 (AMP), Jesus said, “With people [as far as it depends on them] it is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
The greatest things you can do in life are the things you can’t do on your own. You know you are on the right track when a challenge or opportunity can only be done with God’s help.
It doesn’t matter what the situation looks like around you; God is greater than any obstacle you may be facing. Anything that has never been done is impossible until someone does it, so why can’t it be you? Don’t allow your mind to become a hindrance to the things you can accomplish in life. Think big—the way God does.
Today’s Thought:
Believe God is going to do something better in your life. Go ahead and get your hopes up . . . God is leading you to something better than you can imagine.
Prayer Starter:
Father, thank You for empowering me to do anything and everything I need to do today, and for leading me into greater things. When I’m faced with problems, please help me remember that You’re bigger, and You’re working in the middle of them. In Jesus’ name, amen.
