Scriptures: Genesis 50:20, Genesis 17:17-19, Romans 4:20-21, Isaiah 55:8-9, Psalms 130:5

THE POWER OF HOPE

Hope is a powerful force that anchors our souls and breeds expectancy. When we hold onto hope, we align ourselves with the truth that God is faithful and His promises are sure. Amid life’s challenges, hope becomes our lifeline. It keeps us afloat when circumstances threaten to overwhelm us. When we face trials and tribulations, hope whispers to our hearts that there is a purpose in pain, and what the enemy intends for evil, God intends for good.

Hope is not wishful thinking. It is an unwavering belief in the goodness and sovereignty of God that enables us to see beyond our present circumstances. Hope turns our focus from the temporary to the eternal, from the visible to the invisible.

Abraham is a remarkable example of embracing hope in the face of impossibility. God promised him a son in his old age. Despite the natural limitations and attempts to take matters into his own hands, Abraham believed that the Lord would do what He promised. His hope in God’s promise bred a confident expectancy, and Isaac was born, fulfilling God’s word.

Hope also sustains us when we pray and wait for answers. It reminds us that God hears our prayers and works behind the scenes. We can trust His heart even when we cannot trace His hand. The psalmist declares, “I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word, I put my hope.” Believing God’s Word is true, stirs hope within us to remain patient in times of trouble. His ways are not our ways, His thoughts are not our thoughts, and His timing is perfect.

Let us cling to hope, for it is a precious gift from God. As we nurture hope in our hearts, it will breed expectancy that God is faithful to fulfill every promise He has made. Even in the darkest moments, we can confidently declare our hope in the Lord because He will never leave or forsake us. He is the anchor of our souls… steady and unwavering through every storm of life.

Day 2

Scriptures: Psalms 27:13, Romans 8:28, Hebrews 11:6, Matthew 13:57-58, Jeremiah 29:11, Isaiah 55:11

BELIEVE… HOPE… EXPECT

King David said, “I would have given up unless I believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” David expresses his assurance that he will witness God’s goodness and blessings during his lifetime. Even amid difficulties and dangers, he “believed to see” God do what He had always done… come through!

What does it mean to believe… hope… and expect? It is an optimistic anticipation of something to come. While reflecting on the meaning of hope, a sudden inspiration struck me. An acronym, H.O.P.E. was downloaded into my spirit. H.O.P.E. – “Having Optimism, Perseverance, and Expectancy”… to witness God’s promises. The abbreviation simulates King David’s expression. It goes beyond wishing things will work out. It is a deep knowing that God’s goodness will be seen even in the darkest times. HOPE perseveres through hardships, trusting they will work together for good (for those who love God) and are called according to His purpose.

Believing is the precursor for hope to exist. Trusting anything we don’t believe in is impossible. Jesus said miracles were few in his hometown because of the people’s unbelief. So ask yourself, “Am I a believer of who God says He is… and promises attached to His existence?” The answer to this question is crucial because what we believe fuels our hope and expectancy.

Our expectations, which are firmly rooted in our commitment to align our lives with the Word of God and His plans, serve as the driving force behind our actions. With this alignment comes a confident faith that enables us to face any obstacle that may come our way.

So, what does it look like to align our lives with God’s Word? God’s alignment starts with reading, reflecting, and applying Bible teachings to our daily activities. Meditating on His Word and cultivating a spirit of gratefulness through our actions. Being mindful of negative thought patterns and rejecting those not associated with the message of the cross. Finally, waiting eagerly to experience all that He promised.

The above are a few approaches to fostering HOPE. Remember, our beliefs fuel our hope, igniting our expectations to see the manifestation of God’s promises; they will not return to Him void.

Day 3

Scriptures: Romans 10:9-10, Romans 15:4, Ephesians 1:13-14, James 1:4, Romans 2:11

THE ROOT SYSTEM OF A BELIEVER

There is a strong connection between belief and hope. It is a profound truth that shapes the lives of born-again believers. The basis upon which our hope is built begins with acknowledging God’s existence. Hope cannot stand alone. It needs a foundation, which is the foundation of our salvation. The Bible tells us if we confess with our mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in our hearts that He was raised from the dead, salvation is ours. The root system of a believer is a precursor for hope.

The hope that follows sincere belief in God’s existence is a transformative force in our lives. It speaks to the importance of a believer’s root system. A healthy root system provides the strength to persevere through trials and the patience to wait for God’s promises to come to fruition. The stronger the foundation, the more intimate the relationship becomes. That place of intimacy… causes us to think and act more like children of God. Aligning our decisions with His will nourishes the root system of a believer.

Growth is inevitable… when growth is intentional. As born-again believers, we should intentionally feed the soil with the proper nutrients. When a flower blooms beautifully, it clearly indicates that the surrounding ground is healthy. The fullness and beauty of a blossoming flower will be determined by its “root system.”

Our spiritual growth depends on being steadfast in hope, faith, and courage when faced with uncertainty. This type of faith demonstrates our unwavering trust in what God has promised. Our steadfastness through trials and tribulations is encouragement for those watching us. It speaks to the truth of His Word that He does not show favoritism.

The root system of a believer will determine whether we live a hope-loss… or hope-filled life. Let us witness the transformative power of hope as we walk with our Heavenly Father and deepen our faith in His Word. So, refuse to compromise the cultivating of your root system. Don’t let anyone or anything taint the soil of what you believe. What you believe in your heart is where your hope for God’s promises rests. Our ability to endure hardships is a source of hope for others.

Day 4

Scriptures: Romans 12:1-2, Philippians 3:13-14, Habakkuk 2:2-3, Isaiah 55:11, 2 Corinthians 10:5-6, Matthew 5:14-16

HOPE TO ARISE FROM THE RUBBLE

Amidst the rubble of life’s trials and uncertainties, a glimmer of hope awaits, ready to reignite the flames of your God-given dreams. While pursuing those dreams, it’s not uncommon to feel that hope is slipping away. Remember, feelings do not define truth; they are merely momentary emotions. Their only power is the power we give them. When we regroup and decide to deny them access to our destiny, we unlock the potential for greater possibilities ahead of us. Trusting in God and believing in who He says He is… allows us to hold on to His promises.

We often allow ourselves to watch life happen through the lens of negativity. In doing so, we lose sight of the hope and trust we should have in God’s plans. Yet, there is a remedy for countering this tendency, and it all starts with a mindset shift. The thoughts and emotions occupying space within our hearts and minds are our responsibility. Mind renewal starts when we evict the negativity attempting to enter those spaces. A renewed mind leads to a transformed life.

As sons and daughters of the King, we have the authority to take our thoughts captive. We must take advantage of our position. This means replacing the facts we see in our circumstances with the TRUTH found in God’s promises. The TRUTH encompasses what Jesus has done for us and every word that comes from the mouth of God. Embracing this truth empowers us to rise above negativity and approach life’s challenges with faith and assurance.

Capture your thoughts by meditating, journaling, and reading God’s Word. This process helps us reflect on our past victories and remain hopeful about what lies ahead. Praying and proclaiming what the Bible declares ignites us to arise from the rubble with hope and press toward the mark of a higher calling. God’s Word will not return to Him void. Facing challenges with hope and perseverance inspires others to see God’s strength in our weaknesses.

Day 5

Scriptures: Psalms 30:5, 2 Corinthians 2:14, Psalms 121:1-2, Romans 5:3-5, John 16:31-33

HOPE BEYOND THE MOUNTAIN

The definition of hope is to cherish a desire with anticipation or to want something to happen or to be true. Although setbacks and disappointments have the potential to put a damper on hope, it does not have the POWER to stop God’s plans for us. Hope is the fuel that keeps us pressing toward the mark. Hope is the anchor in the storm that breathes life into expectation. Our inner awareness (“our Knower”) tells us that weeping may endure for a night, but joy is not as far-fetched as we think.

Shifting your gaze beyond the mountains in your life can indeed breed hope. Life is full of challenges and obstacles, often resembling massive mountains blocking our path. These mountains can be anything from personal struggles, setbacks, and failures to more significant issues or crises. Hope is the expectancy that pulls us toward the promises of God… regardless of the unforeseen and unpleasant circumstances we might face. Despite this, we can remain optimistic and overcome challenges by changing our perspective.

I wholly believe that God has unimaginable plans for us on the other side of whatever mountain we face! We must remember the truth of Jeremiah 29:11… even in the darkest times. God’s plans to prosper us, giving us hope and a future remain. So, believe Him… stand firm in faith, and don’t give up on your path to your destined purpose. There is an exceeding, abundant blessing on the other side of the mountain.

Remember… The redemptive blood of Jesus is the driving force behind our pursuit of victory and gives us the confidence to keep running toward it. We are running as winners… with the Expectation of possessing every promise provided to us as sons and daughters of the King. Every valley gives us a unique invitation to trust the hand and heart of God. Our Heavenly Father will not shortchange us. Set your gaze beyond the mountain; that is where your hope comes from. What’s ahead of you is far greater than what’s behind you.
