Day 1
Scriptures: 1 John 5:14, 2 Chronicles 7:14, Ephesians 6:18
A Praying Wife
Prayer is of the utmost importance for every believer; we know that it gives us life, is our privilege, and is the way to know our God. When a wife prays for her husband, or when a couple prays for each other, the spirit begins to link. There is no better way of union than praying for each other; it produces greater love and empathy, closer to God, closer to your partner.
It is necessary to have a wife who looks out for the good of her husband since everything unpleasant that happens to him affects them both. Remember that the Bible tells us that we are one flesh.
A wife praying for her husband is a beautiful gift with eternal value! The love the wife feels for the husband should also be manifested in prayer. Ultimately the husband needs to be included in the wife’s moments alone with God. The Proverbs 31 woman is our example: “She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the law of mercy is on her tongue.”
A godly wife prays for her husband, which is part of her role. A good wife knows that the man with whom she shares her life is not perfect, he has weaknesses, temptations, and failures like any other person, and this should not be seen as a burden or as a punishment; instead, he needs her help, which is ideal because God wanted it that way. When building a home on the rock, we do it with Jesus Christ as the foundation and accompany this with prayer.
Here the main reasons why it is imperative to have a prayerful wife:
- The love of God above all things
It must be so. The husband must be related to God, the creator of him. This should be a top priority in his life. If not, there is no guarantee that everything will go smoothly. Godly wives pray for their husband’s relationship with God and ask Him to strengthen it.
- The good of the provider
God made men “providers by nature”; it is part of their masculinity and manhood. Therefore, a man must provide his wife and family with what they need. In many homes, this is not the case for many reasons. So you must look for a praying wife who intercedes spiritually for the general good of her husband.
- Fighting temptation
In a world where sin abounds everywhere, praying for the marriage to remain pure and without stain is always necessary. Godly wives pray to God to strengthen and show their husbands the way out of temptations.
I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that we come across that praying wife who is a perfect fit for our individual lives.
Day 2
Scriptures: Philippians 2:4, Proverbs 18:22, James 1:19
A Wife That Cares for the Family
A godly wife gives her family steadfast, unwavering support. She provides exceptional care for her husband and children out of genuine concern for their happiness and well-being rather than out of duty. Taking care of the family involves not only action but a reflective and emotionally intelligent thought process. This will enable her to show acceptance, be in the moment, and respect her family’s time, privacy, limitations, and feelings.
The wife, as a founding member of the family, the first cell that forms a society, has an important role in the creation, formation, and maintenance of values of the people who integrate it. Her dream of having children and her maternal nature are fulfilled, but it is also there where she begins her greater responsibility of caring for the family.
The woman is an essential member of every home. She is so significant that many homes have completely dissolved in her absence. A caring and supportive wife helps a man push his limits, achieve his dreams, and be successful in life. She demonstrates compassion and care. She considers the family’s requirements and tries to offer solutions. She tries to make her husband smile and can relate to his frustrations. Her concern for others ensures that the family never lacks in any way.
A wife’s care for the family can take many forms, and some of them include:
- Sensitivity to the little things
A caring wife is aware of the little things that occur in the home. For example, if her children or husband do something minor, she does not ignore it. Rather, she appreciates it and warms up to them. If someone in her home is upset about something, she will do everything she can to make it right.
- Selflessness
If you’re unsure of the qualities to seek in a wife, remember that a caring wife prioritizes her family. She is unapologetic about putting them first. A good wife goes above and beyond to make her home comfortable for her husband and children (Philippians 2:4).
- Effectiveness at solving issues
One of the characteristics of a caring wife is her readiness and aptitude for problem-solving. A loving wife doesn’t assign her husband the task of solving every issue and avoids casting blame. Instead, she collaborates with her husband to find solutions to these issues.
- A listening ear
Another key characteristic of a good and caring wife is her ability to listen to other family members because she understands how important it is for effective communication. As a result, she is interested in listening as well as hearing (James 1:19).
I pray that the Lord graciously helps us to choose a caring woman to marry.
Day 3
Scriptures: Hebrews 13:4, Proverbs 31:11, Ephesians 5:33
A Righteous and Praiseworthy Wife
“Who can find a virtuous (righteous) and capable wife? She is more precious than rubies.”
According to the scriptures, a wife is created to be a helpmeet to her husband (Genesis 2:18), a crown to her husband (Proverbs 31:10), and the reflection of the glory of her husband (1 Corinthians 11:7).
The quote above, from the book of Proverbs, chapter 31, line 10 (New Living Translation), has made it known how priceless a Righteous Wife is. Next we need to know what makes a wife righteous, which are the traits and characteristics of a Righteous Wife, which in turn makes a Praiseworthy Wife. Here are the key characteristics of a Righteous Wife:
- A Righteous Wife Respects Her Husband.
Apostle Paul, in his epistle to the church in Ephesus, made mention of the wife giving reverence to her husband. She must give her husband the respect he deserves as the recognized head of the family, as written and taught in the epistles. A respectful wife is like a honeycomb in a home, the source of sweet savor and love. Every wife is of the same flesh and bones, but this respect gives an edge and makes a wife righteous and worthy of praise.
- A Righteous Wife Is Trustworthy.
A trustworthy wife is a praiseworthy wife. Trust is a trait in humans built over time. Notable actions will create the reasons for partners to trust each other. In Proverbs 31:11, it’s mentioned that a righteous wife makes the heart of her husband safely trust in her because he has been at the receiving end of her righteous and notable actions, which subsequently built his trust for her.
- A Righteous Wife Abstains from Adultery.
The main frame of marriage created by God right from the beginning is one man, one woman, not one man, one woman and a side partner. Therefore, a righteous wife gives honor to her marriage and remains faithful to her husband; there and then will she not be praiseworthy alone but also receive favor from her husband and God.
Humanly it might seem impossible to be righteous, but with God, all things are possible. By the special grace of God, I pray we all get the chance to have a righteous wife.
