Day 1
Scriptures: Psalms 34:18, Jeremiah 29:11, Jeremiah 31:3, Psalms 56:8, Psalms 34:4, Isaiah 43:2, Hebrews 13:5, Psalms 56:3, Matthew 11:28, Psalms 46:1, Matthew 19:26
What to Do When Things Seem Hopeless
I am so glad you have chosen to participate in this study. When life gets difficult and we feel like we have nowhere else to turn, God’s Word has the ability to strengthen us and help us view our circumstances in an entirely new way.
If you’re struggling with depression or thoughts of suicide, I want you to know that God loves you. He sees what you’re going through, He is with you, and He desires to help you right where you are.
Psalm 34:18 (NLT) says, The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. When we are hurting, God hurts with us.
Maybe you feel completely overwhelmed—like things have gotten too difficult and there’s nothing good left for your future. That is what the enemy wants you to believe, but God has something else to say…
He says, For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you…thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome (Jeremiah 29:11 AMPC).
We all get hurt and go through hard times, and sometimes we find ourselves in desperate situations, wondering if we can keep going or make it through. But I want you to know that no matter how deep your pain is, or what you’ve been through, there is hope.
Perhaps you are reading this and you’ve been thinking about suicide. It’s not a coincidence that you have found this study! God wants you to know that He loves you, He understands your pain, and He has a plan to help you. No matter how deep of a pit you feel like you’re in, He can reach down and get you out.
Maybe you feel like nobody loves you or your situation will never change. You think it would be easer to give up than face more pain. If so, it’s important to understand that God thinks you are wonderful, and He has good things in store for your future, regardless of what has happened in the past or what you’re going through in this moment.
In fact, the greatest thing you can do is to speak these words out of your mouth as often as you can:
“God loves me. He thinks I’m wonderful! Something good is going to happen to me because He has a good plan for my future!”
I know it may not come easy, but when you say what God says about you, it will strengthen you spiritually, mentally and emotionally. It will build your faith and give you hope!
Shine a Light in the Darkness
Our enemy, Satan, wants to discourage us and make us feel like things will never get better…like there’s no way out. He wants us to believe that we’re all alone. I dealt with depression for years, and there’s a tendency to want to keep it hidden. It’s easy to isolate ourselves and feel like no one else can possibly understand.
The enemy likes it when we keep things hidden in the dark. However, God is Light, and when we discover what He has to say and shine His light into our situation, it brings freedom and hope!
I think it’s common for people to feel shame or embarrassment when it comes to depression or having thoughts of suicide. But the greatest thing we can do in these situations is tell someone else and get it out in the open.
If that’s where you are today, I encourage you to take a step of faith and immediately reach out to a trusted friend, a pastor or a trained Christian counselor.Don’t allow the enemy to keep it hidden, but take the opportunity to get things out into the light.
There may even be things going on in your body, like a physical or chemical imbalance, that is causing you to feel this way or making the situation worse. That’s why it can be so valuable to seek help from a medical professional. God is ultimately our Healer, but He will use doctors and other professionals to bring us healing!
It’s so important for you to know that you are not alone. We are here for you, we love you, and we want to help. The truth is, we all need to talk to someone at different times. We all go through things and need someone to help us get through our tough seasons in life.
At this moment, you may be facing what seems like an impossible situation. You may be struggling with feelings of sadness and depression and wonder if you’ll ever get past it. But I want you to know that God can bring change and make all things new. He can take your problem and turn it into something good. He can even work in your mind and emotions and help you to see things from a different perspective.
I encourage you to take some time and read what God’s Word has to say about you. For instance, God says…
He loves you.
“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” – Jeremiah 31:3 (NIV)
You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. – Psalm 56:8 (NLT)
He will help you.
I prayed to the Lord and he answered me. He freed me from all my fears. – Psalm 34:4 (NLT)
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you, and through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned or scorched, nor will the flame kindle upon you. – Isaiah 43:2 (AMPC)
He is your hope.
…For He [God] Himself has said, I will not in any way fail you nor give you up nor leave you without support….[Assuredly not!] – Hebrews 13:5 (AMPC)
What time I am afraid, I will have confidence in and put my trust and reliance in You. – Psalm 56:3 (AMPC)
He is your comfort and strength.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] – Matthew 11:28 (AMPC)
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble. – Psalm 46:1 (NLT)
I can tell you from experience that God’s Word will change your life—the way you think, the way you feel, and even how you see your future. It will give you hope!
Wherever you find yourself today—regardless of what’s happened or how things may look right now—always remember that God is on your side and that you’re not alone in this struggle. God loves you more than you can ever know, and He is always with you. We love you, too, and we are here to help in any way we can.
Even when it seems there is no way, God can make a way. Because He’s the God of the impossible, and He’s the One who can make a miracle out of any situation (see Matthew 19:26).
Pray: “Father, I need You now. You say You love me and see exactly where I am…and in spite of how I feel, I choose to believe Your Word. In the face of all I am going through, I look to You for help. I need Your strength to deal with everything that feels too big for me right now. Help me to keep my eyes on You. Please make Yourself real to me…and encourage me for the road ahead. Help me experience Your love and presence in a tangible way. I give all that I am to You. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Day 2
Scriptures: Psalms 3:3, Proverbs 23:7, Romans 8:28, Romans 8:35-39, Joshua 1:9, Proverbs 3:5, Hebrews 4:12, Isaiah 61:3, Philippians 4:4, Psalms 16:11
How to Look Up When You’re Feeling Down
Depression is very real. It can cause us to feel isolated, alone and hopeless…like everything around us is falling apart. It may even lead us to feeling like life isn’t worth living anymore.
Our enemy, Satan, seeks to fill our minds with thoughts that eventually cause us to lose our joy and feel badly. He is a discourager, and he wants to pull us down emotionally, spiritually, financially and in every way he can.
But Jesus is our Encourager, and He came to lift us up! He came to give us peace and joy. He wants us to expect good things for our future and fill us with hope.
Now, I realize that depression can be the result of a physical or chemical imbalance, and I don’t want to discount these causes. There are times when the Lord will lead someone to go to a skilled medical professional or psychologist who can help them get to the root of the problem. I believe medical knowledge comes from God and that He works through doctors to do great things.
However, for a great number of people, depression is also a spiritual issue. You see, Satan uses depression to steal a person’s spiritual power and freedom—he seeks to fill our minds with darkness and gloom and bring us down emotionally.
But God wants to help us live free from depression. He wants to fill us with His joy, hope and expectation of good things for our lives. In order to cooperate with Him, one thing we must do is learn to not live by our feelings. We shouldn’t follow every thought or feeling that comes because they can often contradict the truth of what God says about us.
For years, I experienced regular depression. I would awake in the morning with a little voice in my head saying, “I feel depressed.” I believed this was my own thought, not realizing the enemy was attempting to speak lies to my mind.
Later, when God drew me into a closer walk with Him and I began seriously studying His Word, I learned that I didn’t have to follow every feeling and thought that I had. I began to speak aloud and say, “I will not be discouraged or depressed!”
We will always have feelings—they will never go away. However, we do have a choice whether or not we’ll allow our feelings to dictate our lives.
Take Inventory of Your Thoughts
Did you know that what you think about has the power to affect every area of your life? Proverbs 23:7 (AMPC) says, For as he [a man] thinks in his heart, so is he….
Our minds are powerful! When we choose to dwell on all of the negative things about ourselves or the bad things that have happened to us, it feeds discouragement and depression.
Years ago, I battled breast cancer, and it was really a testing time for me. I knew it wouldn’t take much to send me over the edge if I allowed my mind to get negative. During that time, God put it on my heart to fill my mind with the following things, then speak them out loud as often as I could. I would think and say:
“God, I know that You love me. I believe that all things work out for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose. I put my trust in You, and I will not fear” (Romans 8:28, 35-39; Joshua 1:9; Proverbs 3:5).
You see, the more time you spend reading and thinking about His Word, the more it gets inside of you and begins to change you from the inside out.
Hebrews 4:12 says that God’s Word is alive and powerful (NLT). It has the ability to change the way you see yourself and even your future. As you fill your mind with what God says about you and claim His promises as your own, it will bring hope and build your faith.
Keys to Fighting Depression
As I mentioned, depression is sometimes the result of a physical or chemical issue, and I believe it’s important to allow doctors to help us as the Lord leads. However, depression is also very often a spiritual battle…and the Bible gives us great instructions on how to fight it.
Isaiah 61:3 tells us to put onthe garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness…(NKJV).
We may not always feel like praising God, but taking a few moments to talk to the Lord and thank Him for His goodness is one of the most powerful weapons we have to fight discouragement and depression. We literally invite God’s presence into our situation, which brings us His strength, peace and joy.
Philippians 4:4 says,Rejoice in the Lord always [delight, gladden yourselves in Him]; again I say, Rejoice! (AMPC)
Praising the Lord in the midst of our pain is the greatest thing we can do. Because when we choose to fix our attention on God and rejoice in the good things He has done, we make Him bigger than our problems!
This leads me to Psalm 16:11. It says, …In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore (NKJV).
When we worship God, we invite His presence into our lives. He replaces our discouragement and sadness with His joy and peace…giving us hope and breathing new life into our situation.
We can’t always change everything that is happening around us, but God’s presence will change us—how we think, how we feel, and how we view our circumstances.
The next time you encounter a situation that threatens to pull you down, make a decision to turn to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to fill you with hope. Choose to believe whatGodsays instead of your feelings. Fill your mind and mouth with positive, hopeful things from God’s Word.
Because no matter what you’re going through, or what your mind may be telling you, God loves you, and He is always ready and willing to help you.
Pray: “Father, Your Word says that You are the Lifter of my head (see Psalm 3:3). So, I invite You into my situation right now and ask You to infuse me with Your hope and strength. Help me to recognize any negative thoughts and begin to replace them with positive, hopeful thoughts from Your Word. In my times of pain or sorrow, I want to make a habit of running to You for help—to receive strength and joy in Your presence. Be with me every moment of this day, and help me to focus my eyes on You and Your goodness when life feels difficult. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Day 3
Scriptures: Jeremiah 29:11, Philippians 3:13, Jeremiah 1:5, Zechariah 9:12, Hebrews 6:19
Brimming with Hope
When we’re experiencing depression or feel like life is too much to handle, it can be difficult to see the bright side of things. However, even when we are at our lowest, God is always cheering us on, and He wants us to believe that things can and will get better.
I love Jeremiah 29:11. It says, For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome (AMPC).
In other words, God is looking for an opportunity to be good to you!
Maybe it’s hard to imagine yourself as a positive, faith-filled person, full of hope. Some people are simply afraid to hope because they have experienced so many negative circumstances and they don’t think they can face any more pain.
But no matter what you’ve been through, God has so much good in store for you! He is “the God of hope,” full of mercy and new beginnings (see Romans 15:13). And with Him, it’s never too late to start believing, anticipating, hoping and expecting that things will get better.
Great Expectations…
One definition of hope is “a favorable and confident expectation.”
I believe many times we take a passive attitude, deciding we’ll just “wait and see” if something will change or “happen” to go well for us. But God wants us to expect on purpose. He desires for us to actively anticipate something good…even when something good isn’t happening to us in the moment…even when everything inside of us wants to give up.
So I ask you: What are you expecting?
What are you seeing in your mind and imagination? How do you talk about your future? When you get up in the morning, do you think, Well, I guess I’ll try to make it through another day. Or do you wake up with anticipation that today might be the day you receive your breakthrough?
It’s appropriate that when a woman’s pregnant, we say that she’s “expecting.” And the further along she is, the more she anticipates what’s coming.
My pregnancies were especially unique because I carried all four of my children approximately a month past their due date. My doctor told me I was the only woman he knew who stayed pregnant as long as an elephant!
Toward the end of each pregnancy, I woke up every day and said, “Today is going to be the day—it has to be the day!” I had all my suitcases packed and ready. I was constantly double-checking everything and making sure things were in order, confident that my baby would come at any moment. Anytime I felt a twinge, I would think, There it is! It’s coming!
This is exactly how God wants you to be with Him! He has an incredible plan for your life, and He wants you to anticipate that good things are right around the corner.
Maybe you’re struggling with intense sadness or a bitter disappointment and can’t imagine anything getting better. The enemy wants to convince you that things will neverchange. But God wants you to know that He loves you, and you can trust Him to make a miracle out of your mess.
Hope says: “Things may have been this way for a long time, but God is the God of the impossible, and things can change.”
You Are Not Defined by Your Past
In Philippians 3:13, the apostle Paul says, …But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead (NIV).
The older I get, the more this verse means to me. The truth is, we all make mistakes. Other people also do things that may be out of our control, and it’s easy to carry those hurts along with us as well. We wish we could go back and change things, but we can’t.
However, in this verse, God instructs us to forget what is behind. Why? Because although we can’t change the past, He can work it all out for our good and provide us with a good future.
Honestly, I’ve had several times in my life where I thought I blew it and completely messed up God’s plan for my life. At times, I’ve also been through so much pain that I didn’t think I could move forward. I know what it’s like to have so many bad things happen in a row that you’re almost afraid to expect anything good to happen. You just don’t want to go through another difficult situation! There were times when I was miserable, and I knew I was probably making others miserable.
Perhaps this is where you are right now. Maybe you are in a really tough spot, and you are simply overwhelmed by life. You may be having thoughts of suicide or wondering if the world would be better off without you. This is what our enemy, Satan, wants you to think. He wants you to believe there is no way out or there’s too much water under the bridge…that things are just too hopeless to recover. But I’m here today to tell you that regardless of how things look and feel at the moment, suicide is not the answer!
I want you to think about this: God made you a one-of-a-kind miracle. You are special! There is no one else on this earth who can fulfill your purpose exactly the way you can. You are loved by God, you are His precious child, and you are His chosen instrument to accomplish great things (see Jeremiah 1:5).
Regardless of the past or the way you feel right now, God has not changed His mind about you. You haven’t ruined or missed out on His best for your life. Remember, when we are fighting depression or thoughts of suicide, it makes us feel isolated—like there’s no way out. But the truth is God still has so many good things ahead! No matter what mess you are in, God’s goodness can pull you out. There is nothing in your life that He can’t restore—your mind, emotions, relationships, or even missed opportunities.
Remember, what we think and say can make all the difference. When thoughts of suicide come…when the enemy tries to convince you that it’s all too much, you’ve messed things up or nobody loves you, that’s when you need to open your mouth and say,
“No! Today is the first day of the rest of my wonderful life that God has planned for me. I’m going to let go of what lies behind, and I’m going to press on to the good things that are ahead!”
Are You a Prisoner of Hope?
Hope means having a positive mindset or attitude. The hopeful person absolutely refuses to be negative in any way. Although they recognize and deal with the storms of life, they remain hopeful in thought, attitude and conversation.
I used to be the most negative person I knew. I was definitely a glass-half-empty type of person—I saw the downside in every situation. That explains why I was so miserable. Doubt and negativity bring us down…but hope releases joy!
So many times, I think we get caught in the trap of waiting until we feel optimistic or hopeful. But hope is a decision to be positive and not live by how we feel. The truth is that when we make a solid decision to think positive, hopeful thoughts, our feelings will eventually catch up.
I absolutely love Zechariah 9:12. The Lord says, Return to the stronghold [of security and prosperity], you prisoners of hope; even today do I declare that I will restore double your former prosperity to you (AMPC).
What does it mean to become a “prisoner of hope”? It means that regardless of what happens in our lives, we refuse to stop hoping and trusting in God’s ability to come through.
When you become a prisoner of hope, the enemy doesn’t know what to do. He may come against you with negative thoughts, but he has no power to harm you when you are determined to continually put all of your trust in God.
Hebrews 6:19 (AMPC) says, [Now] we have this [hope] as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul [it cannot slip and it cannot break down under whoever steps out upon it…]….
I think we all know what an anchor is. When you want a boat to stay in one place, you drop the anchor, and it allows it to only move so far. Well, it says that hope is the “anchor of the soul.” Our soul is our mind, our will and our emotions. Our soul tells us what we think, what we want and what we feel.
So what does all of this mean? It means that when everything looks bleak…when it seems like nothing makes sense and it feels like God’s promises will never come to pass in our lives, hope is our anchor that pulls us back and says, “Hold on! It’s still going to happen!”
When you’re going through a really difficult time or have experienced pain in the past, it can be easy to expect more of the same. But today, God is asking you to place your hope in Him—to expect and believe that He is greater than what you’re going through, and He can even take the bad things that have happened and work them out for your good.
Pray: “Father, I know You have a good plan for my life, and today I choose to place my hope in You. Right now, right in the midst of what I’m dealing with, please help me to expect good things for my future. Help me to see beyond what I’m feeling and place my trust in You, the anchor of my soul. Thank You for being with me every hour of every day. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Day 4
Scriptures: Revelation 21:5, Lamentations 3:22-23, Jeremiah 29:11, Romans 8:28, Psalms 118:24
All Things New
Have you ever been stuck? Have you ever hit a place in life that seemed like a dead end…like you no longer had any options? You may feel that way right now.
I’ve been there many times, and I’m sure most people have. But I am so grateful that over the years God has taught me that even if we get stuck, there is no situation too difficult for Him to handle!
Look with me at the story of Joseph in the book of Genesis. The Bible says he was the favorite of his father’s 12 sons, and his brothers were very jealous of him because of it.
One day Joseph shared with his brothers a dream he had. In his dream, they were all bowing down to him. Needless to say, it didn’t go over well!
As a result, the brothers got together to decide how to get rid of Joseph. First, they threw him into a pit to leave him there to die. But later they decided to sell him into slavery to a band of traveling Ishmaelite merchants. They then devised a plan to convince their father of Joseph’s death.
As you may know, this story ends triumphantly. Joseph becomes second in command to Pharaoh, is eventually reunited with his family, and all is forgiven.
What happened to Joseph is proof that no matter what you go through in life, there is always hope. No matter what “pit” you find yourself in, all things are possible with God!
Each Day Is a Brand-New Start
Over the years, I’ve learned an important lesson—life doesn’t always go as planned! And it can be disappointing when things don’t go the way we hoped.
There was a time when I would let today’s disappointments and difficulties ruin tomorrow. I would blow up at my husband, Dave, and say things I regretted, then spend four days feeling guilty and condemned because of my behavior. Or there have been times when I have missed opportunities and was sure I messed up God’s plan for my future.
Little by little, God helped me to change my attitude. Instead of focusing on what has been lost or how I feel in the moment, God helped me to focus on the good things He can do in the future.
Lamentations 3:22-23 (ESV) says, The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning….
It’s no coincidence that our time is divided into 24-hour increments. God gives us new opportunities each and every morning to start fresh. It’s a chance to begin again—to try again, hope again and watch Him do something we never expected.
You see, God is a God of restoration and change—He is always doing a new thing and working behind the scenes in our lives to bring about new beginnings. Where we see failure, God sees potential for something new.
The minute we stumble and come apart, God is already planning our comeback. When we mess up “Plan A,” we don’t have to worry—God has a “Plan B”!
Maybe Plan A for you represents a missed opportunity, a painful past or a relationship that didn’t work out. Maybe you’re tired of hurting and can’t see how things could ever change. Plan A was supposed to mean enjoying your life, but instead you feel overwhelmed and stuck in your current condition.
If so, I want to remind you again of this scripture. Jeremiah 29:11(NIV) says, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Regardless of how you feel today or what happened yesterday, last week or last year, God has a great plan for your life—a plan for you to succeed and experience the peace and joy that Jesus died to give you.
Right now, you may be in a place where you can’t see a way out of your situation—you can’t imagine anything ever getting better. However, God can, and He’s already working behind the scenes to help you. He has already been working on your Plan B!
In fact, I’ve discovered that God’s Plan B is often better than Plan A could have ever been. Even when someone else or an unforeseen circumstance affects our lives, God promises to take the negative things that happen and use it for our good (see Romans 8:28).
God Is Planning Your Comeback
As a young adult, I was convinced that being abused as a child had marred me for good. I felt like I could never be like everyone else or have the life I could have had.
But all things are possible with God! When we see dead ends, He sees new beginnings. He wants to take our pain and not only heal it, but He wants to restore to us more than we would have had in the first place.
When we’re suffering from depression or struggling with thoughts of suicide, it’s so tempting to give in and think, It’s over. It’s too late. But it isn’t too late! It’s never too late to have a fresh start when you have life in Christ. Tomorrow is a new day, and it’s a new opportunity to see what good thing God will do in your life—in your mind, emotions and circumstances.
I encourage you to look at each day as a chance to start again. When you wake up, declare things like, “This is the day the Lord has made—I will rejoice and be glad in it!” (See Psalm 118:24.)
God is the God of do-overs, second chances and new beginnings. Even when you can’t see a way out, He is already working on your behalf, planning your comeback. And if you’ll let Him, He will give you a fresh start, and it will be better than you can imagine.
Pray: “Father, I know You are working behind the scenes even when I can’t see it. So, please strengthen me today—mentally, emotionally and spiritually—and help me to stay focused on You, knowing You are always with me. It’s only because of You that I can say, ‘This is the day the Lord has made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!’ In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Day 5
Scriptures: Matthew 5:4, Romans 8:28, 2 Corinthians 1:3, Isaiah 49:23, Isaiah 43:2-3, Isaiah 41:10
Comfort in the Storm
Whatever you have gone through, or whatever you may be facing today, I want to conclude this study with an encouraging message from Matthew 5:4. Jesus says, “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted” (ESV)!
I used to think this was odd. I wondered, How can we be blessed if we are upset and mourning? Then God helped me understand that our times of pain are actually perfect opportunities to receive and experience His supernatural comfort.
God’s comfort goes far beyond any ordinary kind of comfort. He is the only One who can carry you through the pain and help you to actually become a stronger person than you were before.
With God’s help, we can have an attitude that says, “This may be tough right now, but I will never give up. I’m really hurting, but I’m going to make it through!”
Romans 8:28 (NLT) says, …God causes everything to work togetherfor the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them. When we refuse to give up, the hard times of our lives can actually turn out to be the greatest blessings.
Some of my greatest victories have come out of difficult moments when I had to press through and lean into God for His help and comfort. I’m grateful today that I didn’t give up during those times because I wouldn’t have the privilege of helping people the way I do.
When you are hurting, I encourage you to run to God—the “Source of every comfort”(see 2 Corinthians 1:3). Spend time in His Word, talk to Him in prayer, and choose to worship Him even when you don’t feel like it.
Yes, the Lord will often use others to comfort us. But even the people who are extremely close to us cannot give us everything we need all the time.
When we expect others to do for us what only God can do, we have our expectations in the wrong place, and we will always be disappointed. However, the Bible says those who put their hope in the Lord will never be disappointed (see Isaiah 49:23).
Trust the One Who Can’t Be Shaken
I take a lot of comfort from Isaiah 43:2-3. It says, When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God…(ESV).
When you’re going through hard times, it’s so important to remember that God is right there with you, and you can trust Him to help you through it.
For instance, it can be difficult to stay in faith when you’re fighting depression, your circumstances don’t make sense or life just doesn’t seem fair. It’s especially hard when you feel like you’re doing what you should be doing and you’re not getting a right result.
There will be times in our lives when everything feels like it is shaking and nothing feels secure, and the only real answer is to trust God and keep on trusting Him.
Although God isn’t the One who brings these challenges into our lives, I’ve learned from experience that He will use them for our benefit. He will help us to let go of all the unstable things so we’re only hanging on to the Rock of our salvation—Jesus Christ—who cannot be moved or shaken!
God Is with You Through It All
Remember, what you’re going through now isn’t going to last forever. When I’m going through a hard time, I like to remind myself, “This too shall pass.” In the meantime, you can choose to place your trust in God and remember that things will change…a new season is right around the corner.
It’s so important to stay in God’s Word and encourage yourself with scriptures like Isaiah 41:10. God says, Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you…(AMPC).
I encourage you to never, ever give up. Continue to place your hope and trust in God. Because He sees what you’re going through, and He’s with you every step of the way. With God’s help, you can make it through the storm and come out stronger on the other side.
Wherever you are right now—whatever storm you are facing—please know how deeply you are loved and that you are enough. God loves you unconditionally, He is right by your side, and He has so much good in store for your life!
Pray: “Father, I thank You for always being with me—in the good times and also when life gets really difficult. Please help me to draw closer to You when the storms are raging and life doesn’t make sense. Let me receive Your supernatural comfort. I know You are right here with me, and You will work everything out for my good. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
