Day 1
Scriptures: Philippians 4:19, Matthew 6:26, Psalms 34:10
Hey Friend!
If you’ve seen any other material from me, you might remember the story of that day my car broke down while I was 1,000 miles from home right before my 21st birthday. I thought I was living the dream, but I was one car problem away from financial disaster.
Maybe you’ve been there too. I know it’s tough when the bills are piling up, and your paycheck seems to disappear before you even get it. Maybe you’re wondering how you’ll make rent this month or if you’ll ever be able to pay off that credit card debt. It’s easy to feel overwhelmed and alone in these moments.
But let me encourage you today…
We often think financial stability is about hitting a certain number in our bank account. But what if it’s more about trusting God’s provision? Let’s look at some powerful verses about God’s ability to provide.
Philippians 4:19 reminds us that God will meet all our needs according to His riches.
In Matthew 6:26, Jesus points out that if God cares for the birds, how much more will He care for us?
And Psalm 34:10 assures us that those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.
These aren’t just nice words – they’re promises from God.
But here’s the thing: His provision often looks different than we expect.
And what if those financial challenges aren’t there to break you but to build your faith?
Each time you face a money problem and see God come through, you’re not just solving a financial issue – you’re growing in trust!
Here’s something practical we can try today:
Start a “Provision Journal.” Each day, let’s write down one way we see God providing for us, no matter how small. It’ll train our brains to spot God’s faithfulness everywhere!
Let’s not forget that waiting on God with our money isn’t about doing nothing. It’s about actively trusting Him while doing our part.
As we practice this, we’ll find our peace comes less from our bank balances and more from trusting God’s unlimited resources. Even when it feels like we’re barely treading water financially, He’s there, ready to throw us a lifeline. It might not come in the form we expect, but let’s keep our eyes open for His provision!
God sees you in your victories and your struggles. He hasn’t forgotten you.
Day 2
Scriptures: Isaiah 40:31, James 1:2-4, Psalms 27:14
Yesterday, we started unpacking the truth of God’s provision. Now today, let’s learn about waiting on His provision.
In our world of instant everything, waiting feels like wasted time. But what if that waiting period for your finances to turn around is crucial for your growth?
Waiting is hard, especially when you’re watching your friends buy houses or take fancy vacations while you’re scraping by. It’s tempting to think God has put your life on pause while everyone else moves forward.
It’s okay to feel frustrated or even angry about our current situation. But let’s look at what the Bible says about what we’re going through.
Isaiah 40:31 tells us that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength and James 1:2-4 even suggests we should consider trials a joy because they produce perseverance.
Finally, Psalm 27:14 encourages us to be strong and take heart as we wait for the Lord.
These verses reveal something counterintuitive: waiting, especially with our money, can spark personal growth and spiritual maturity.
And what if this waiting period is preparing us for something greater? What if God is using this time to teach us lessons that will be crucial for our future?
I like to think of it like this: financial challenges are like resistance training for our faith.
Just like lifting weights breaks down muscles so they grow back stronger, money struggles when approached right, can strengthen our faith and character.
During these waiting times, we can:
- Develop better money habits
- Learn to be content no matter what
- Grow in empathy for others in similar situations
- Deepen our reliance on God
Here’s a challenge for us today: Let’s pick one area of personal or spiritual growth to focus on during this financial waiting period and create a small, daily habit to help us progress.
And remember: we can’t always control our money situations, but we can always control how we respond to them.
Day 3
Scriptures: Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 3:9-10, 1 Timothy 6:17-19, Luke 21:1-4
Hey Friend!
Now that we have an understanding of God’s provision and how to better ourselves while we wait for His provision, let’s look at something we can do that’s even crazier than what we’re already doing.
Most of us have our money priorities backward. We focus on building wealth, thinking once we have “enough,” we’ll focus on more meaningful stuff.
But what if prioritizing God’s kingdom is the key to both financial peace and a fulfilling life?
What if we saw our finances not as a way to build wealth, but as a tool to advance God’s kingdom?
This doesn’t mean being financially reckless. It means prioritizing giving, making decisions based on kingdom impact, using our resources to serve others, and finding contentment in God’s provision, whether it’s a little or a lot.
Matthew 6:33 tells us to seek first God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and everything else will be given to us as well.
Proverbs 3:9-10 promises that when we honor God with our wealth, our barns will overflow.
And in 1 Timothy 6:17-19, we’re reminded to put our hope in God, not wealth, and to be rich in good deeds.
These verses flip our usual thinking about money on its head. They suggest that generosity, not hoarding, is the path to true wealth; and that investing in God’s kingdom gives returns way beyond any stock market gains.
It might sound crazy to think about giving when we’re struggling to make ends meet. How can we possibly give to others when we can hardly take care of ourselves? Or maybe we feel guilty because we want to be generous but just can’t see how right now.
Here’s the thing: God doesn’t expect us to give what we don’t have. But He does invite us to trust Him with what we do have, even if it seems insignificant.
Remember the widow’s mites from Luke 21:1-4? Sometimes the smallest acts of generosity can have the biggest impact – both on others and on our own hearts.
Here’s an action step for today: Let’s look at our budgets (or make one if we haven’t) and find one way to align our spending more with God’s kingdom priorities.
Maybe we’ll increase our giving, cut an unnecessary expense to free up money for ministry, or find a way to use our skills to serve others!
Remember, seeking God’s kingdom first isn’t just a nice spiritual idea – it’s a practical way to find purpose in our finances and peace in God’s provision.
Let’s pray: Lord, thank You for Your faithfulness in my finances. Help me to trust You more, even in times of waiting. Give me wisdom to use my resources for Your kingdom. May I find peace in Your provision and joy in generosity. Guide me to align my financial priorities with Your purposes.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
