Children of God have absolutely nothing to worry about. Although the enemy comes at different angles to challenge, trick or attempt to thwart the plans of God for one’s life, God has already fixed everything for the believer who walks according to His will, word and way. In the BOOMERANG Bible plan readers will discover in scripture that there are consequences to every action, plan and decision.

Dr. Kennetra Bryant

Day 1

Scriptures: Psalms 64, Isaiah 54:17

Immediate God-honoring actions must be implemented when one experiences disrespect, mockery and scorn. The negative, harsh actions of others can manifest a range of emotions if one allows, resulting in depression, rage and even defeat. When attacks come remain in faith-filled confidence that God’s promises of vindication are true and will come to fruition. Those promises include God working all things together for your good when you love him and have been called according to His purpose & whatever one sows that is what one will reap.

Trusting that God is a vindicator is wiser and more effective than implementing a self-gratifying vengeful plot. God knows all and has the ability to straighten out any wrong done to you no matter how treacherously vile those occurrences appear. When one sows discord, they reap a harvest of discord. When one sows gossip they reap a harvest of gossip in their lives.

When one sows slander they reap slander, When one sows lies they reap lies. Knowing this truth, one should aim to sow love, joy, peace, patience, forbearance and sacrifice to reap a harvest of love, joy, peace, patience, forbearance and sacrifice. Everything we do results in the sowing and reaping principle and one should make a targeted decision not to do anything to hurt their fellow man because the boomerang is sure to come in their lives.

Boomerang can be defined as an act or utterance that backfires on its originator. God’s word is replete with examples of the manifestation of sowing and reaping. When anyone makes the conscious decision to create a plan that is intended to hurt, destroy, manipulate, harm, disrespect or thwart the plans of God on God’s anointed vessel whether female or male, young or old, rich or poor, the Boomerang effects are in route.

The Boomerang is not always instantaneous but the Boomerang effect will take place.  Psalm 64 illustrates how God protects His children from secret enemies and although we cannot stop the attacks of Satan on God’s anointed, but resting in God’s promise of protection is key to winning the battle and knowing that God will come through in Vindicating His Children.

It is reassuring to know that Satan is already a defeated foe and no matter which way he comes and who he uses the plans of God will never be thwarted. Be encouraged knowing that God is our vindicator.

Day 2

Scripture: Esther 6:1-14

Mordeci and Esther experienced God’s Vindication and witnessed a Boomerang on their enemy Haman.  Haman sowed a plan to annihilate and destroy God’s chosen people and experienced a Boomerang. What Haman meant for harm for Mordeci and God’s chosen people is the very thing that came upon him.

Matter of fact it was more than what he, his associates and family probably could conceptualize. Haman experienced several Boomerangs regarding Mordeci and Esther possibly originating from Haman’s pride regarding his promotion and his self-proclaimed prominence.

Not that one hopes for boomerangs for individuals but the Word of God is replete of situations, scenarios and scriptural accounts of individuals originating a plan to hurt God’s anointed and the plan backfires on the originator and those in whom they are in association with which includes, family, friends, cities, coworkers, etc.

An individual who experienced a Boomerang effect was Haman. Haman experienced several Boomerangs in the book of Esther but one that we will focus on now is the events that transpired when Haman sought to execute Moredci and the entire Jewish race due to Mordeci not bowing down to Haman because of his promotion of being the prime minister under the Persian King Ahasuerus.

Haman was truly an enemy to the Jews and sought to exterminate the entire race because one man Mordeci would not bow down to him. Haman went as far to have gallows built to hang Moredci on. But one particular night the king couldn’t sleep and had the book of the Chronicles read to him and it was discovered that Mordeci saved the kings life due to two workers plotting to kill him.

When it was discovered, investigated and searched out the men were executed but Moredci was not honored for what he had done, and the king wanted to show favor and honor to him. Just when the king thought about what should be done regarding Mordeci, Haman walks in to converse with the king about putting Mordeci on the gallows.

The king stops him in his tracks and asks “What should be done for the man the king delights to honor ?”Haman’s pride answered with a lavish public layout and the king commanded Haman to dress Moredci in a royal robe, place a royal crest on his head, leading him on a horse through the city proclaiming the favor of God and man on his life. Boomerang!

Day 3

Scriptures: Numbers 16, Numbers 12:6-8, Proverbs 17:11

Checking one’s attitude and motives regarding leadership in church, families, community, government and work is paramount as one aims to live a God-honoring life. Disagreements will happen but when one deliberately disrespectfully bucks & rebels God-ordained leadership, consequences follow.

Korah rebelled against God-honoring Leadership and rose up against the chosen man of God, Moses with claims alluding that Moses exalted himself before the others and that they were all holy in the sight of God too. God is the one who exalted Moses, but when pride, jealously and hate sets in one can easily distort truth and the call of God on one’s life.

Moses was commanded by God to lead his people, but Korah rebelled against God-ordained leadership and corralled others to join in. Moses fell down in prayer before the LORD regarding Korah’s actions because he already knew (God is not mocked what one man sows is what he reaps) and the danger of deliberately rebelling against God honoring leadership.

The Lord instructed Moses and Aaron to separate themselves from among the rebellious congregation to consume them immediately but Moses and Aaron interceded on behalf of the entire congregation and addressed the key rebels in the group Korah, Dathan, & Abiram.

The LORD caused these men to die a death that was a new thing, the ground under them split open and swallowed them alive to Sheol and their households and all the men who supported Korah and their possessions. The ground covered back up and fire also came forth from the LORD and consumed the two hundred and fifty men who were endorsers of Korah’s rebellion.

It is important to follow God and not man but when God places a God-honoring chosen man or woman of God to lead his people, he will confirm that persons call through his word, because God’s words are never void. If one feels as if they don’t believe a particular person is called, there are certain spiritual processes that must be followed which include, Prayer, Fasting, seeking Godly counsel but rebelling against God honoring leadership and causing fights and stirring up mess is sure to bring a Boomerang effect that the accuser is not ready for.

Korah displayed an attitude of rebellion, sought to take Moses out and discredit him, but ended up being discredited for his dastardly deed straight to death, He and his followers, family and possessions. Boomerang!

Day 4

Scriptures: Matthew 6:33, Daniel 3, Isaiah 54:17

You probably are aiming to live a life that is pleasing to God.  You aren’t perfect but you understand the importance of seeking first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added unto you.

God has saturated you with his divine favor but you still have to deal with negative people who despise the Favor of God on your life and your relationship with God that influences your pursuit of living a God honoring lifestyle at home and work.

Haters are jealous and seek to trip you up through discrediting your character and devising evil plots. This is a situation that happened with Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego three Distinguished Hebrew boys after God’s own heart, taken captive under Babylonian rule and although others sought to change their names to fit in the culture, these young men knew who they were and whose they were.

The favor of God illuminated their paths causing them to excel, leading to promoted positions of administration. But even in the midst of promotion these young men kept God first and didn’t bow to the wicked, vile, cunning ways of the world. They remained in alignment with God.

Their haters sought a way to get rid of them by going to the King to accuse them of not following the customs that were contrary to God. Resolute in their God-honoring convictions at the threat of death, they spoke up and proclaimed God is powerful, mighty and to be praised.

They were thrown in the fire and Jesus showed up. The Boomerang effect took place. The very ones who threw them in the fire couldn’t take the heat themselves and died. The promotion they tried to strip them of only turned into another blessing of promotion.

And when they aimed to silence these men about God’s magnificence the king loudly proclaimed that God is worthy to be praised. Be encouraged today that although people try to cut you off, throw you away or burn you up, they can’t even take what they attempt to do to you.

God will show up and God will get the glory and praise in the heated situations you face and someone will see that only God can save in this way. Someone might possibly declare Jesus is LORD based off of your example in the heated moments of life. Although attacks come remember God’s Vindication will correct, protect and redirect! Boomerang!

Day 5

Scriptures: Isaiah 55:11, Isaiah 54:17, Psalms 21:11, Daniel 6

Daniel, a distinguished man of nobility, integrity and faithfulness was taken captive by Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon. Daniel experienced trials, changes and shifts but God publicly promoted Daniel under every King he served. Daniel walked in the Favor of God and prospered and although the King delighted in his distinguished leadership and wisdom, some of Daniel’s colleagues hated him and searched for reasons to discredit and demote him.

Unable to find anything corrupt to accuse Daniel of, these haters developed an elaborate wicked plot. These satraps and commissioners approached the king and stated that “All the commissioners of the kingdom, the prefects and the satraps, the counselors, the governors” consulted together to pray to Kind Darius only, anyone who goes against this decree within the next thirty days will be thrown into the lion’s den.

The statement made by the satraps and commissioners before the king was a lie because they included Daniel in a statement that he did not agree or consult with these men about. Nevertheless, Daniel was aware of the wicked plot and openly continued to pray to God three times a day where others could see Him.

Daniel didn’t allow trials to stop his communication with God. When the satraps and commissioners witnessed Daniel’s actions they went before the king, reminding him of the decree resulting in Daniel being thrown in the lion’s den.

But God protected Daniel in the pit, the lion’s mouths were shut and Daniel was not hurt because he was found innocent before the LORD. God’s Vindication & Power came through. The same individuals who sought to destroy Daniel because of his devotion to God were destroyed with the same plot they orchestrated for Daniel’s attempted demise.

The Boomerang effect set in. These satraps and commissioners went to the king to have the king give a decree to have Daniel thrown in the Lion’s den and the very thing was commanded of them because they maliciously accused Daniel.

Not only were they dealt with, their families were affected and thrown in. Don’t be discouraged, God knows how to handle those who maliciously plot against you whether it be a colleague a so-called friend, boss, neighbor, anyone.

God’s word is true and will not return void, it is established and applies to everyone. God has the power to set everything straight. Trust God to Vindicate you. Boomerang!
