SELF-CARE

Hey Beautiful,

Welcome to Cherished & Chosen: A 7-Day Challenge for Single Women!

This challenge is your opportunity to face and embrace being single with confidence and joy. You will learn how to analyze, apply, and amplify your God-given gifts and seek comfort in knowing you are not alone in your journey. Participating in this challenge will give you practical tools and spiritual insights to create an extraordinary life that reflects the mission God assigned you to complete. Whether you want to strengthen your relationship with God or find a supportive community that uplifts and inspires you, this challenge offers a fun, non-overwhelming approach. Each day has a dedicated theme with a mission you should accomplish. Don’t miss this chance to invest in yourself and boldly step into the extraordinary life God has planned for you!

To position ourselves to experience God’s best, we must prioritize self-care. Self-care is vital to living an empowering, satisfied life, especially as a single woman. While society often pushes the narrative that happiness is contingent on romantic relationships, there is immense value and strength in being content with being single. Embracing self-care means prioritizing your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being and recognizing that your health and happiness are invaluable. Engaging in activities that rejuvenate you—whether a morning walk, exercise, spending quiet moments in prayer, or enjoying hobbies—nurtures your soul and reminds you of your inherent value.

Self-care is not just about pampering yourself; it’s a crucial foundation for growth and confidence. As single women, we have unique opportunities to pursue our passions, strengthen our faith, and grow in ways that might not be possible when other relationships take priority. Practicing self-care fosters a deep sense of self-respect and self-love, helping us stay grounded and joyful. When we care for ourselves, we can also better serve others and contribute to our communities, shining our light with renewed energy and purpose. Remember, self-care is not selfish; it’s essential to thriving as the strong, vibrant women God created us to be.

Today’s Assignment

Engage in activities that promote your physical, mental, and emotional well-being, such as spending time in nature or reading a book. What will you do to take care of yourself today?

Lifelong Mission

Dedicate a specific time each day to relax and recharge.

Day 2

Scripture: Philippians 4:13

MOTIVATION

Goal setting is a powerful tool for personal development, especially as a single woman navigating life on her terms. Without the responsibilities that come with a romantic partnership or family, there’s a unique opportunity to dream big and pursue ambitious goals that align with your God-given gifts and passions. Setting clear, intentional goals lets you focus on what matters most: whether growing spiritually, advancing in your career, building new skills, or improving your health. Creating goals is a way to take ownership of your journey, moving confidently toward a fulfilling and purpose-driven life, empowering you to shape your destiny.

Goal setting provides a sense of direction and motivation. Life can sometimes feel aimless without a clear path forward, but establishing goals creates a blueprint to help you make the most of your time. These goals bring you closer to achieving specific milestones and foster discipline, resilience, and a greater understanding of who you are and who you want to become. When you set and pursue goals, you’re reminded of your strength and ability to shape your future, all while trusting God’s plan for your life. With every small accomplishment, you build confidence and celebrate the beauty of living a life that’s entirely your own.

Today’s Assignment

Define your personal and professional goals for the year. Break them down into smaller, achievable steps and create a plan to work towards them. Create three goals that you want to accomplish this year.

Lifelong Mission

Dedicate specific times throughout the year to revisit your goals to assess your progress toward your goals.

Day 3

Scripture: Galatians 6:9

TRIUMPHS

Celebrating our accomplishments as single women is a powerful way to acknowledge our growth and resilience. Too often, society emphasizes relationship milestones more than personal achievements, but each accomplishment is a testament to our hard work, determination, and faith. Whether it’s a career milestone, a health goal, or a personal breakthrough, every achievement deserves a celebration. Recognizing our successes builds confidence and reminds us of our capabilities, especially when we feel discouraged or uncertain. It’s a moment to thank God for how far we’ve come and for the strength He’s given us to pursue our goals.

Deborah was a prophetess, judge, and leader in Israel. People constantly sought her advice. God blessed her with the knowledge she needed to help guide Barak and the Israelites into victory against the oppressive Canaanite king, Jabin, and his army commander, Sisera. After their victory, Deborah wrote a song praising God, called the “Song of Deborah” (Judges 5).

Examples such as Deborah’s confirm that celebrating our accomplishments reinforces our sense of purpose and fuels our motivation for the future. Each celebration, no matter how small, helps us stay focused and optimistic about our path, giving us a chance to reflect on what we’ve learned. When we celebrate, we create space to share our joy, allowing our achievements to inspire and encourage those around us. Embracing our successes reminds us that we’re living meaningful lives.

Today’s Assignment

What obstacles did you have to overcome to achieve your victory? Take time to acknowledge and appreciate your achievements.

Lifelong Mission

Regardless of how big or small the win, celebrate your accomplishments by taking a moment to treat yourself. Go to your favorite restaurant, get a Mani/Pedi, or whatever will make you smile.

Day 4

Scripture: James 1:5

WISDOM

Seeking spiritual growth as a single woman is an essential journey that strengthens our relationship with God and deepens our understanding of His purpose for our lives. We can focus on our development and spiritual growth to build our faith. By dedicating time to prayer, Bible study, and reflection, we create a space to hear God’s voice, understand His promises, and allow His wisdom to guide our decisions. Growing spiritually is about building inner resilience and joy, equipping us to navigate life’s challenges with peace and purpose.

Spiritual growth also shapes our identity and self-worth. As single women, it’s crucial to know that we represent Christ and to rest assured that we are fully loved, valued, and complete. Investing in our spiritual lives deepens our trust in God’s timing and purpose, allowing us to live confidently and contentedly. This journey of faith is not only empowering for us; it also positions us to serve better and encourage others.

Wise women naturally cultivate a reputation that precedes them, leaving an unmistakable impact wherever they go. In 2 Samuel 14: 1–20, there’s a woman called the Wise Woman of Tekoa. Joab sent this woman to King David to help him see the error in exiling his son, Absalom. She used her wisdom to create a compelling, persuasive story that helped pave the way for Absalom to return to Jerusalem.

When we pursue knowledge, our growth can inspire those around us to change their mindsets, and we become a light reflecting God’s love and grace. Seeking spiritual growth is ultimately about embracing who we are and who God calls us to be, living with a sense of fullness and faith daily.

Today’s Assignment

Read or listen to a chapter from a spiritually uplifting book or devotional. Reflect on the message and apply it to your life.

Lifelong Mission

Create a routine that will help you to stay consistent in maintaining your relationship with God.

Day 5

Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:17

TRANSFORMATION

Embracing change as single women is vital to our personal growth and resilience. Life is full of transitions, whether in career, friendships, health, or individual pursuits, and these shifts can often feel exhausting. Yet, when we see change as an opportunity rather than a setback, we empower ourselves to grow in ways we may not have imagined. Embracing change teaches us to adapt, overcome our fears, and stay open to new possibilities. This adaptability allows us to thrive in various circumstances, recognizing that every season of life brings valuable lessons and unique blessings.

One of the Bible’s most powerful examples of transformation is Saul of Tarsus, who became the Apostle Paul. His story is living proof that how you start doesn’t define how far you can go. Once known for persecuting Christians with relentless zeal, Saul had a life-altering encounter with Christ on the road to Damascus. That divine moment didn’t just change his direction—it changed his identity. He became Apostle Paul, a bold and tireless messenger of the Gospel, dedicating his life to preaching to the Gentiles and authoring much of the New Testament.

Apostle Paul’s transformation reminds us that our past does not bind us or force us to accept the labels society tries to place on us. When we surrender to God’s purpose, our biggest failures can become the foundation for our calling.

No matter how uncomfortable, each step draws us closer to His purpose and strengthens our trust in His timing. Our willingness to adapt to God’s timing allows us to thrive in various circumstances, recognizing that every circumstance we experience brings valuable lessons and unique blessings.

Navigating change requires us to lean into faith and trust that God has a purpose for every transition. In these moments of transformation, we often discover hidden strengths, refine our character, and gain a clearer sense of who we are and what we want. By accepting change, we’re better equipped to create a life that aligns with our values and goals, which allows us to create a life full of growth, discovery, and fulfillment.

Today’s Assignment

Identify areas where you’d like to make positive changes. Create a plan to implement these changes and embrace the journey of personal growth.

Lifelong Mission

Create a list of verses that you can refer to as a reminder that God is with you. You will encounter challenges, but if you stay strong and consistent, like Job, you will come through those difficult circumstances as pure as gold.

Day 6

Scripture: Acts 2:42

FELLOWSHIP

Life’s journey is much more fun when we share it with those who support, encourage, and uplift us. The early church exemplifies how fellowship isn’t just social—it’s spiritual. Through shared meals, prayers, and praise, early believers strengthened one another and grew in Christ. Having a community allows us to find a sense of belonging, friendship, and mutual understanding that reminds us that we’re not alone.

Strong connections with others will enable us to share our joys and challenges and gain perspective and encouragement along the way. Whether it’s a church group, friends, family, or other supportive networks, having a community provides a support system that helps us navigate the ups and downs of life with confidence and joy.

A community also offers opportunities for growth, accountability, and service. By connecting with others, we learn new perspectives and challenge ourselves to grow in ways we might otherwise not have. As single women, it’s empowering to know we’re part of something greater than ourselves, where we can receive support and give back.

Being in a community allows us to practice love and generosity while encouraging us to become the best versions of ourselves and lift others. Embracing community helps us lead more joyful, purposeful lives rooted in God’s love.

Today’s Assignment

How will you connect with someone who shares your interest?

Lifelong Mission

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there! List your interests, hobbies, etc., and plan an outing for those who share your passion.

Day 7

Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-23

SELF-COMPASSION

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining the Cherished & Chosen Challenge! Writing this devotional has been a true joy through knowing it is reaching hearts committed to living a God-centered, purpose-filled life. Your dedication and openness to growth have truly inspired me.

As single women, it’s easy to feel pressured by timelines and expectations. But self-compassion is essential by extending to ourselves the same kindness we’d offer a friend. Self-compassion grounds us in grace, helping us embrace our imperfections, honor our unique journeys, and grow without guilt or shame. Your relationship status doesn’t define your worth—God gives it to you, and it’s unshakable because it is deeply rooted in His love.

Self-compassion builds resilience, strengthens our faith, and invites peace that surpasses understanding. It reminds us we are already enough.

Take a moment to celebrate where you are, reflect on your growth, and reconnect with your faith. Never forget—you are cherished, chosen, and called.

Today’s Assignment

Be kind to yourself and treat yourself with compassion. Forgive yourself for your mistakes and celebrate your strengths. Write down all the things that are stressing you out and pray to God about them. Then, throw away the list you just made. Throwing away your list is a physical reminder that you have decided to turn your worries over to God.

Lifelong Mission

Get into the habit of journaling. Journaling allows you to identify situations or people that cause you to feel negative so that you can address these feelings. Then, focus on creating a game plan that will help you to focus on what makes you unique.
