Federal agents, collaborating with local authorities, arrested 27 individuals in Franklin, New Hampshire, as part of an extensive anti-narcotics operation that exposed a distribution chain linked to Mexico’s Sinaloa Cartel. The Drug Enforcement Administration spearheaded the effort, supported by the Franklin Police Department, as well as state and regional law enforcement partners.

The takedown culminated a three-month investigation. On the first day, agents executed three search warrants and detained 17 suspects, seizing around $100,000 in cash, a firearm, and substantial quantities of illegal narcotics. On the following day, 10 more individuals were arrested and a homeless encampment—identified as a site for ongoing drug sales—was dismantled.

Investigators revealed that the drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine, originated from Lawrence, Massachusetts—a city long recognized as a crucial fentanyl distribution hub for New England. Authorities emphasized that the supply was connected with the Sinaloa Cartel’s street-level network.

This operation demonstrates the power of coordinated enforcement. DEA Special Agent in Charge Jarod Forget highlighted the action as a prime example of federal leadership working synergistically with local agencies to remove dangerous drug operations from communities. Franklin Police Chief Dan Poirier echoed his support, expressing pride in the collaborative effort and its impact on public safety.

Photos released from the scene show suspects in handcuffs and substantial stacks of seized cash, underscoring the scale of the bust—and the seriousness with which the Sinaloa Cartel penetration into the region is being addressed.

Officials have emphasized that the investigation is still active, meaning further arrests are possible as the case evolves
