Scott Soucek, a vocal Trump supporter from Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, who once claimed he was voting in 2024 to fight child trafficking, has been charged with 10 counts of possessing child pornography. He was arrested on July 24 after investigators found he had allegedly accessed hundreds of explicit images through a file-sharing platform.

Soucek is married to Stephanie Soucek, chair of the Door County Republican Party and a prominent GOP figure in the state. She also served as a delegate to the 2024 Republican National Convention.

In an October 2023 Facebook post, Scott Soucek listed multiple reasons for supporting Trump, including a commitment to combating child and human trafficking. He also claimed his vote was for “my children and my grandchildren.” That post, along with his account, has since been deleted.

However, investigators revealed that more than 15 years earlier, in 2009, Soucek had admitted to downloading child pornography during an earlier probe. Despite the admission, no charges were ever filed at the time. According to the new criminal complaint, it’s unclear why the case wasn’t referred to prosecutors back then.

The current 12-page complaint describes disturbing content linked to Soucek’s IP address, downloaded as recently as March 2025.

Both Scott and Stephanie Soucek were active in supporting the MAGA movement during the 2024 campaign. In October 2024, Stephanie appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room podcast and was interviewed by Trump ally Kash Patel, who praised her efforts to rally voters in Wisconsin.

Stephanie paid her husband’s $10,000 bond on July 25. Scott Soucek is scheduled to appear in court again on August 29. If convicted, he could face up to 25 years in prison.

Prior to the deletion of his Facebook account, Scott frequently posted pro-Trump content and memes targeting political opponents, including one accusing President Joe Biden of inappropriate behavior toward children. In April, he also posted a conspiratorial message warning of a coming “storm” and claiming the “Deep State” was collapsing.

Stephanie Soucek also shared conspiracy-themed content online, including a meme suggesting Democrats were protecting Ghislaine Maxwell’s clients. In May 2024, she posted a photo with Trump, captioned, “Still in disbelief a little! #howdidthishappen.”

Scott Soucek’s attorney, Brett Reetz, told The Daily Beast that Stephanie filed for divorce the day after her husband’s arrest. “She’s an honest, hardworking Christian,” Reetz said.
