President Donald Trump announced that U.S. military forces carried out a third strike this month targeting what is claimed to be a drug‑smuggling vessel. He says the vessel was linked to a group already designated a terrorist organization, and that intelligence confirmed it was carrying illicit narcotics along a known trafficking route, “on its way to poison Americans.”
According to Trump, this strike took place in international waters under the U.S. Southern Command’s area of responsibility. Three men aboard the vessel were reportedly killed—all labeled “male narcoterrorists”—and no U.S. forces were harmed. Trump released video footage showing the boat being hit and exploding.
This action follows two earlier such strikes against vessels allegedly involved in smuggling drugs from Venezuela. In both earlier cases, Trump similarly claimed the targets were connected to violent cartels or “narcoterrorists.”
Trump used strong language in his postings, warning those involved in smuggling fentanyl, cocaine, and other illegal drugs that they are being hunted. He framed these operations as essential to protecting Americans and curbing a flow of deadly substances into the U.S.
