Two men have been arrested in Salt Lake City after an incendiary device was found under a KSTU (Fox 13 News Utah) vehicle. According to court documents, the device had been ignited, but it did not function properly.
The discovery occurred on a Friday, in the days following the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Law‑enforcement—including the FBI and bomb squads—traced the suspected perpetrators to a home in the Magna area, where they executed a search warrant.
Inside that residence, authorities say they found not only additional explosive materials and firearms, but also illegal drugs and “hoax weapons of mass destruction” (devices purporting to be WMDs but not functional as such). Nearby homes were evacuated during the raid.
The two suspects have been identified as Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31. They are being held without bail on charges that include possession of weapons of mass destruction, making terrorist threats, and other serious offenses. Fox 13 News has confirmed the incident involving their vehicle and said ensuring staff safety remains their top priority.
As of now, authorities have not released a confirmed motive, and it’s unclear whether the news outlet itself was specifically targeted.
