God gives us the power to choose

God has granted us the gift of choice, and it is up to us to use it. While we cannot change our hearts, control our thoughts, impulses, or affections, or make ourselves pure and ready for His service on our own, we do have the ability to choose to serve God. By surrendering our will to Him, He will work within us to align our desires and actions with His will. In doing so, Christ will bring our entire being under His guidance.
