Day 1
Scriptures: Jeremiah 29:11, Ephesians 3:20, Philippians 1:6
Something Great
“Imagine if I told you
God has something great in store
You were created with a purpose
That’s the reason why you were born”
When I listen to my song “Keep Breathing 2.0” the second verse encourages me the most. I originally wrote these first four lines as a reflection of the Bible verse that I focused on to get out of depression. The Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11 reminding me that there was a good plan for my life and that I had a purpose. It ignited my belief that those bad days weren’t going to last forever. Of course that didn’t mean I wouldn’t face bad days ever again, but it does mean that the bad days are temporary and great days are to come. The same goes for you.
God has something great in store for you. It will be amazing and beyond what you can imagine for yourself. He created the beautiful story of your life long before you were born, and He intends to see it through. All you have to do is have faith in God. Trust Him to work everything out for your good. I know that’s easier said than done. What helped me in the process was taking it one day at a time and remembering to keep breathing because if I’m still breathing then God is still working.
Prayer point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for having great plans in store for me. Bless me to overcome the difficulties I’m facing. Help me to trust You and know my purpose. Guide me each day of my life and increase my faith. Lord, I thank you for working everything out for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Day 2
Scriptures: 1 Peter 2:9, Psalms 139:13, Ephesians 1:4-6
Big Plans
“You’re chosen, anointed
God has bigger plans for you”
During my bad days, it was hard for me to see my value or know where my destiny was headed. I wanted to give up many times because I felt worthless and hopeless. But God stepped in and inspired me to write these two lines I love so much because they state your value and your destiny.
When something or someone is chosen, that means that it is special, it is worthy and it is important. Newsflash! God chose you to be on this earth. You are special to Him. You are worthy in His eyes. He knitted you carefully in your mother’s womb. He chose you to be one of His children. You are important to His divine plan. So hold your head up, remember your value, walk in your destiny, and keep breathing because God is still working.
Prayer Point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for choosing me despite my flaws. Thank you for your everlasting love and faithfulness. Thank you for creating me and calling me your child. Please bless me to always remember my value in your eyes and lead me as I walk into the destiny you designed for me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Day 3
Scripture: Jeremiah 29:1-11
Prosperity
“You’re a survivor of all you’ve been through
He still has plans to prosper you”
I had to tell myself these lines because I didn’t feel like surviving or feel like I had the strength to continue on. I needed hope. I needed something to look forward to. Then Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind. Even the setting of this famous verse looked bleak because the Israelites were exiled to Babylon for 70 years. Yet, God instructed them to live and multiply. He reminded them that even in those undesirable circumstances He still had plans to prosper them.
I don’t know what all His big plans entail for your life, but I do know that His plans are to prosper you too. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, “prosper” means to become strong and flourishing; to cause to succeed and thrive. You may not feel strong or successful right now, but by the grace of God you have already survived everything you’ve been through to date: the setbacks, the dark days, the mistakes, what others did to you, said to you. You are a survivor. You continued breathing through it all, and now is the time to keep breathing because God has plans to prosper you despite the tough times. God is still working.
Prayer point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for gracing me to survive the difficulties in my life. Thank you for your plans to prosper me, not to harm me, but to give me hope and a future. I ask that you bless me to not give up, but to bring glory to your name. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Day 4
Scriptures: Isaiah 41:10, Romans 8:31, Deuteronomy 7:9, Deuteronomy 31:6
Bright Future
“My God is on my side
And my future is bright”
I must say these two lines are huge affirmations for me because when I’m going through a difficult time, it can be challenging to believe that God is indeed on my side and that I have a bright future ahead. Nevertheless, scripture tells us that God is with us and for us. He is a faithful God and never leaves us nor forsakes us. These truths are comforting for me, and I hope they are for you too.
When you are feeling alone, tell yourself, “God is on my side.” When you are feeling worried and hopeless, proclaim, “My future is bright.” I recommend saying these affirmations repeatedly to encourage your faith, and remember to keep breathing because God is still working.
Prayer point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for always being with me. Thank you for never leaving me nor forsaking me. Help me to remember that you are on my side and have created a bright future for me. Bless me to become everything you created me to be. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
Day 5
Scriptures: Hebrews 13:8, Romans 8:28
God is Still Working
“It’s true
Life has its ups and downs
But God is with you through it
And all things work together for good
For those who love God
And are called according to His purpose
Remember you’re called
You have purpose
You have life”
These are the last set of lines I want to encourage you with from my song “Keep Breathing 2.0” because when life twists and turns, I want you to remember that God stays the same. He is who you can depend on when you’re facing negative circumstances, bad days, or depression. He will guide you through it. He loves you and is working everything out for your good, to benefit you. It may not look like how we want or when we want it, but be patient and God will come through on His time. He always finishes what He starts. He gave you a purpose. He gave you life. Keep breathing, God is still working. 🙂
Prayer point:
Heavenly Father, Almighty God, thank you for your faithfulness through life’s storms. Thank you for working everything together for my good. Thank you for loving me. Help me to be patient and to walk by faith. Bless me to make the most of the life you’ve given me and to fulfill my purpose. It’s in Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
