Transformation Church
Day 1
Scriptures: 1 Samuel 16:12-13, 2 Corinthians 1:21, Ephesians 1:13-14
Marked by God
Have you ever felt like you don’t have a purpose? If you’re reading this today, you need to understand that you are marked. Not marked by society or the world’s standards, you are marked by God!
Being marked or anointed by God means that you have God’s approval on your life, today and every day!
We have all had situations in our life that have made us doubt who God has called us to be, but that ends today. Say this aloud: “I am marked by God!” Now say it again and this time, say it like you truly believe it!
In God’s Word, we learn that we have been set apart for a special purpose!
What you do and who you are matters, not only to your friends, family, or coworkers but most importantly, to God. What you need to realize is that the college denial letter, having sex outside of marriage, and even the failed business plan do not discount the plan for your life. Out of all of the billions of people in this world, He created you to do what only you can do. God wants to use your gifts and your talents to make a difference in the lives of those around you. Often we discount where we are in life and believe the lie that if God wanted to do something amazing that He would choose someone else. Your location and your vocation could be the perfect combination that God uses to change a generation! He has chosen you and called you to do more than you can ask, think, or imagine.
Whether you are confident in who God has called you to be or you are in a season of discouragement and doubt and no longer believe you have been called by God, no matter what you’re facing today, you are still marked.
Today, it’s time to stand firm in your faith and remind yourself that God has marked you for impact, purpose, and destiny!
Reflection:
What lies have you believed that made you feel like you weren’t marked by God?
Prayer:
Father, Remind me of my identity in you and why you have marked me. Help me to renew my mind and seek you as I pursue your purpose for me on this Earth.
Day 2
Scriptures: Philippians 4:11-12, Romans 8:25, Matthew 6:1
Approved in Private
God wants you to not only recognize that you are marked by Him, but He wants you to surrender to Him and the process that it takes for your purpose to develop and mature. Oftentimes, when we recognize the unique plan God has for our life, we want to skip the process and step into the finished product of what He has declared over us. What God wants to do in and through your life is something that cannot be on display until it is fully developed in Him. God wants to approve of you in private. Being approved in private goes against our culture because we want everyone to recognize and validate what God is doing in our life. God wants to approve you in private because there is something that He is working out of you that wouldn’t survive in public. Today, our social media feeds are full of premature declarations shared by people who were marked by God, but were unable to practice the patience to be approved in private. God wants to develop us in private so we can effectively demonstrate our purpose in public. Just because everyone doesn’t know, it doesn’t mean you aren’t marked.
In the story of King David, before He was king, he was a shepherd. In fact, The day that He was marked by God, he wasn’t even invited to the party, he was serving in the field. He later was invited to the party and was anointed and marked to be king, but was sent back to serve in the field shortly after. We must cancel the idea that elevation must take place immediately.
There is a process of preparation in private that God wants all of us to walk through before we demonstrate our purpose publicly. You may be in a place where you know God has called you to greater than what you’re experiencing right now, but God wants to remind you that you’re still marked, even if no one else sees it. Obscurity produces integrity. Your approval is taking place in private by the One who marked you!
Reflection:
What could God be working out of you in private, before He calls you to demonstrate in public?
Prayer:
Lord, Help me to not seek approval from others, but from you alone. Show me how to be patient and open to the process of you approving me in private.
Day 3
Scriptures: 1 Peter 5:6, Psalms 16:11
Anointed Before You’re Appointed
Can we be H.O.T. (Humble, Open, and Transparent) for a second? We are all guilty.
At some point, we have fallen into the enemy’s trap of idolizing the appearance of being anointed by God, rather than falling in love with the One who marks and anoints us in the first place. We desire the position over His presence, but today, God is calling us to a greater level of humility and obedience.
So you’re anointed, but how are you waiting? How are you serving God and His people? In this season, God is wanting to see if He can mark you and trust you to remain obedient, humble, and honoring to others even when you are in the middle… waiting in private.
Ask yourself. Have you been doing the last thing that God told you to do with a cheerful heart or are you fighting tooth and nail to make whatever “IT” is happen in your own strength? When you are doing the last thing that God told you to do, you will never have to work for your position, the position will come to you. When we are marked by God, He calls us to a pace of grace. He doesn’t want us to strive towards purpose, but to stride. Maybe God has called you to global ministry and you’re disappointed because your current audience consists of your five coworkers. Do you know that nothing you do is wasted and it will all be used for His glory? God wants to know if you will steward His word in private, in and out of season, because stewardship is the heart of God. You might be in a place where you are struggling with the obstacles that come with not being in your “appointed sweet spot”, but know that when you’re marked and going through the development process your opportunities will often be wrapped in obstacles. Even when it’s hard, will you steward over what He’s given you now, in private, so that you can be victorious in public? God is writing a story that no man will be able to take credit for. You are marked, you are anointed, but will you trust God to handle how you’re appointed?
Reflection:
Are you stewarding over what God has given you today?
Prayer:
Lord, Show me how to wait patiently and with humility as you prepare me for my future. Thank you in advance for your wisdom and guidance.
Day 4
Scriptures: 1 Samuel 17:39-40, Ephesians 2:10, 1 Peter 4:10-11
God Can’t Bless Who You Pretend to Be
When you’re marked you must know that God anointed HIS creation, not YOUR creation. Because you are God’s masterpiece, created in His image, He wants to use you exactly how you are. God cannot bless who you pretend to be, but He desires to bless who He created you to be. When we begin to operate out of insecurities or go through life without God’s direction, we can easily fall into comparison. Copycat callings are not cute and have 0% effectiveness. You cannot conform to anyone else’s idea of purpose. When David goes to fight Goliath he is offered someone else’s armor and eventually declines because it was not fit for him. God had already given David victory in his situation and prepared five stones and the infamous slingshot for David to slay the giant, but what would have happened if David chose to fight a battle using someone else’s weapons? The entire trajectory of his purpose would have been changed!
As the esteemed philosopher, Dr. Seuss says, “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is you-er than you.” God marked you for a specific purpose and there are things in this world that can only come from the inside of you. There are books, inventions, healing words, and prayers that can only be produced by you! Johnny’s anointing will not work for Jerome’s and Adina’s will not work for Udoba’s. We all have gifting’s and anointing’s that are integral to the global church. If we do not operate in the specific anointing that was placed over our lives, we limit the ability to be used in the fullness of our capacity. God has called us to represent Him differently, which means that in our sphere of influence, using the anointing given to us, we are called to give, show, and promote God in a way that only WE can. We were marked for a purpose on purpose and because of the beauty of our differences, God has a perfectly crafted plan to reach the lost and found for transformation in Christ.
Reflection:
Today, reflect on your identity in Christ and how He has uniquely marked you to make a Godly impact!
Prayer::
Lord, Thank you for uniquely creating me! Help me continue to lean into my unique gifts and talents. Thank you for marking me and calling me to do good works for your Kingdom.
