Day 1

Scripture: Ephesians 3:20

What if there could be more?

I’ll never forget when I had the opportunity to sing in front of more than 70,000 people in Africa before the evangelist Daniel Kolenda took the stage and started his powerful sermon! It was incredible how hungry the people were to know more about Jesus. They believed in a simple but amazingly profound way, and miracles unlike anything I’d ever seen happened right before my eyes!

Sometimes people may think, “I don’t know if I’ll ever experience anything like that!” But what if you could? What if you could experience even MORE than you have so far?

God’s Word tells us that He “…is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…” (Ephesians 3:20, NIV).

Do you believe that? I want to challenge you this morning! I strongly believe that God has given you much more than you realize. He wants to mightily use you to be a blessing to this world. He wants to do miracles through you!

There are a few very important keys in Ephesians 3:20 that I’d encourage you to act on:

Key 1: Ask God to make you a blessing to others and to work through your life in miraculous ways!

Key 2: Imagine the possibilities…dream about them! “Imagine” is an important word in this scripture. What could God do through YOU?

Dream about what God can do, and you’ll soon see…this is only the beginning! God believes in you and knows exactly how He desires to use you in His Kingdom. I encourage you to start today by asking God to use you, and then let Him know that you’re ready, willing, and available!

How could God use YOUR “yes” to Him today?

You are a miracle!

Day 2

Scripture: Isaiah 6:8

Are you ready?

Over the years, music has opened doors for me to meet many interesting people, including celebrities. This particular evening was one such time…I’d been looking forward to attending a special event in Berlin. But on the plane there, I considered how many times I’d attended parties like these but had felt like it was purposeless. Attending felt “pointless” somehow.

So I prayed, “Jesus, if You do have a purpose for me going to these events, please make it clear to me!”

I’d just walked the Red Carpet when a German singer I’d never met before ran straight into me. Thick tears had ruined this beautiful woman’s makeup, and the cigarette she held in her hand burned my new dress. Clearly shaken, she cried out, “Can you tell me if God really exists?” I beamed at her and gave her the life-saving answer she needed, starting with “Yes, there is a God, and He loves you!”

After a long conversation, she sobbed and said, “I can’t believe it. I came here with the end in sight, and now I’m going home with a new beginning. I was going home to take my life. Now I’m going home to open my grandma’s Bible.”

None of this happened because I’m a musician or because my name is Déborah. It happened because I said to God, “Here I am. Use me!”

God wants to do that through you today, too! No matter where you are, let His incredible light of redemption and salvation inside of you shine for all to see!

God is looking for people who not only live for Him but also speak of Him. How will you answer the questions that He asks: “…’Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’” (Isaiah 6:8, NIV)?

Let’s pray this together wholeheartedly today: “…’Here am I. Send me!’” (Isaiah 6:8, NIV)

You are a miracle!

Day 3

Scriptures: Matthew 6:8, Romans 10:9

You have the answer inside of you!

I recently had a day when I didn’t feel like doing anything at all. Then I saw the appointment with my speech therapist in the calendar and thought, “Oh…I have that, too.”

Do you realize that every moment of your life can mean something, even when you don’t feel like doing what’s on your schedule for the day? What matters is that you realize what God can do through you!

After looking at my calendar that morning, I prayed a short and simple prayer: “Jesus, please let it be a good appointment.” Here’s some good news…when you have a relationship with Jesus, you don’t always have to pray a ten-minute prayer! He hears your small cries for help: “‘…your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him.’” (Matthew 6:8, NKJV)

My speech therapist asked me what I’ve been doing, and I enthusiastically told her about A Miracle Every Day. I also told her that I need to do a lot of audio recordings for the emails and that my voice gets tired sometimes. I didn’t expect her immediate response: “Then we’ll work on it! Can you read me one of your texts right now?”

It’s easy to talk about faith in a familiar environment of other believers when we know we have “allies,” but it costs more to tell strangers what we believe.

Romans 10:9 says, “If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9, NIV)

This verse isn’t just about your salvation alone…I believe it’s also about those around you who don’t yet have a clue about the gospel of Jesus Christ. There are so many people who are longing for what you may already have!

When I read one of the A Miracle Every Day texts to my speech therapist, thoughts of her reaction swirled around in my mind, but she very quickly opened up and allowed me to look into her heart! In the end, we were both encouraged.

You carry a treasure inside you that so many people are searching for! I encourage you today—be brave and choose to share the hope that you have in Jesus! 🙂

You are a miracle!

Day 4

Scriptures: Nehemiah 1:4, Jeremiah 1:7

Is your heart troubled?

“Is your heart troubled?” Lately, my answer to this question has often been “yes” because I’ve been sharing on TV and YouTube about a topic that’s still new and intense for me, the sexual assault that I experienced.

I often find myself in tears, not because of my own pain—I can truly say, “My heart is whole; I am free!”—but because of the many people out there who still carry this pain with them.

As I’m thinking about this and writing to you, I’m remembering an email that really encouraged me from Paul Marc Goulet, who used to write A Miracle Every Day. In the daily email, Paul Marc had written about Nehemiah. This Jewish leader had an established career and, though he lived in exile, was doing very well. However, when he heard that his people were suffering back home, it broke his heart: “So it was, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept…” (Nehemiah 1:4, NKJV).

I, too, am grateful that I’m free of the pain I experienced. I am well. But when those around me; my friends; A Miracle Every Day readers—maybe you—aren’t doing so well, it breaks my heart. That’s why I have to speak out: “But the Lord said to me, ‘Do not say, “I am too young.” You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,’ declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 1:7-8, NLT)

When we experience miracles, we must pass them on! Don’t ever doubt that you have something to share…behind every hurt you’ve experienced is a miracle! So when the time is right, please choose to pass it on. God may well use your testimony to bring healing, encouragement, and freedom to others!!

I’d like to encourage you today—go through this day with your eyes wide open to see those God has placed in your path: “‘…You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you.’” (Jeremiah 1:7, NLT) Be brave and unafraid to speak. 🙂 There are those you will encounter not by chance but by His divine plan!

Thank you for allowing God to use you today!

You are a miracle!

Day 5

Scripture: Luke 16:10

What if He really wants YOU?

I was getting used to performing week after week in different cities and witnessing firsthand how God reaches hearts. I said to myself, “There’s nothing more fulfilling than this!” Or so I thought…

In all honesty, it doesn’t matter how well-known you are, where you come from, or what your background is. What matters is your heart! Jesus said, “‘If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities.’” (Luke 16:10, NLT)

I’d love to share a testimony with you today. When COVID-19 started spreading rapidly and all public performances were canceled, I could’ve buried my head in the sand. Instead, I realized God was testing my heart: “What if no one listens to you anymore? Will you still love Me? Will you trust Me?”

My answer was a resounding “yes”! I proved it to Him by digging deeper into His Word and seeking Him more than I ever had before, just for me, without anyone noticing. I also started writing devotionals.

Here’s something wonderful that I’ve discovered: God isn’t nearly as concerned with what you’re doing as He is how much you want Him and want to be near Him!

The fact that I’m writing today for A Miracle Every Day comes as a direct result of my decision during that time…in fact, it was just a few months later that the connection starting A Miracle Every Day in German miraculously came about! Now, through another God-directed sequence of events, I’m also writing for the English-speaking A Miracle Every Day, writing to YOU! 🙂

My world had to be paralyzed for God to prepare me. I had to give Him my YES, my love, and my full trust. And He has used A Miracle Every Day to pour out His blessings upon me and many others…including you, too, I pray! 🙂

As you’ve been reading this email, perhaps part of my story resonated with you. Maybe you, too, are in a time of drought or uncertainty in your life. It could be that the Lord wants to have you all to Himself at the moment. Do you trust Him? Will you continue to love Him, even if no one notices?

I’m praying for you!

You are a miracle!

Day 6

Scriptures: Matthew 16:15-16, 2 Corinthians 12:9

A bold new start!

You’re not where you are today by chance! Whether you’re in the midst of a valley of pain or a time of great joy, your situation is not an accident.

We’ve been talking this week about how beautiful it is to share our faith—sometimes through “mountaintop” opportunities, yes, but mostly through everyday situations in our lives, perhaps you feel too shy or don’t really know what to say to share your faith. Maybe you notice other people seem to take it in stride, but you feel unqualified.

Notice that Jesus didn’t say, “Go into all the world and tell others how infallible and successful you are so that people may know Me.” Rather, He said, “…’Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation…’” (Mark 16:15, NIV)! Jesus also declared, “…’My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.’…” (2 Corinthians 12:9, NIV).

These two verses offer great wisdom about how to share what you’ve experienced and received from God:

  1. “Preach the gospel”…To do this, you first need to know the gospel! I encourage you to take time to daily read God’s Word and strengthen yourself by doing so.
  2. “In weakness”…God knows your weaknesses, yet He still commands you to reach out to people. Because of this, you can be assured that your weakness won’t stop or disqualify you. Rather, it’s an opportunity for God’s power to be revealed!

If you struggle to find the right words, it doesn’t bother God because HE wants to be the One to speak through YOU!

This message did not come to you by any coincidence. God wants to reach your heart and bring you even closer to Him. He sees so much in you and can accomplish amazing things through you, even in the midst of your weakness!

Today is the day for a bold new start! Choose to share what you’ve received…you won’t regret it! 🙂

You are a miracle!
