We stop fearing when we discover how powerful and fearsome our God is. A plan with the objective of neutralizing fear.

Antonio Burgos

Day 1

Scriptures: Psalms 97:5, Isaiah 66:1

I love this concept of God!!! God is not a teddy bear; when God wants to, the mountains melt in his presence. Can you see it? Imagine God walking through your city; the mountains melt like ice cream. This is what Psalm 97:5 says The mountains melted like wax before God, before the Lord of the whole earth.

We cease to fear when we discover how powerful and fearsome our God is.

There is an illustration that represents this very well. What would happen if I locked a group of people in a room and released some cockroaches knowing they would panic? You would likely hear stomping and a lot of screaming. It is normal; it is a situation that can produce disgust, fear, and rejection … Minutes later, I decided to put a lion in that same room. Where do you think the same people are looking now? Do you think they are now focused on the cockroaches? Of course not; now their eyes are focused on the lion, now they are fearing for their life, they are praying like never before to get out of that room alive, right or wrong? Well, that is what happens to us with God. When we contemplate his attributes, cockroaches cease to be problems and become unimportant anecdotes.

The lion is on our side, do you know that? We have with us the meekest and, at the same time, the most fearsome being that creation has ever known. God was not created like us; he does not understand limits, he is not afraid, he is not frightened by anything in this world, his pulse does not tremble, he does not suffer from low esteem, his feet rest on the entire planet earth, and he has established his throne throughout the length and breadth of heaven.

Isaiah 66:1 Thus says the Lord: “Heaven is my throne and the earth is my footstool.

The problem with our fears is that our gaze is focused on the Goliaths.

Goliaths have power when you compare yourself to them, but if you put God in His rightful place, these giants will end up as harmless cockroaches. They may annoy you, but they have no power to harm you.

Tip of the day: Do not focus on what causes you fear; focus on the greatness and power of God.

Prayer subject: Spend a few minutes in prayer, declaring that the Lord is the only one in control of your life. Declare these truths, rest, and rest in the Lord. As I told you before, God is not afraid.

Day 2

Scriptures: 1 Kings 18:18-19, 1 Kings 19:11-12, 2 Timothy 1:7

There was a man named Ahab; he was one of the most bloodthirsty and wicked kings of Israel in history. Ahab was known for his worship, surrender, and total devotion to pagan gods; he made it easy for the nation to turn its back on God. No one could contradict him; everyone feared him. Ahab and his wife Jezebel had a very clear call, to kill all the prophets of God, and so they had done with many, but there was a prophet who at first did not fear but instead faced Ahab. His name was Elijah, and now he has called for a worship meeting with 850 demoniacs to show who the true God is. Who would do such a thing? Someone who is sick in the head or someone who knows his God very well. I don’t want to make the story long; the prophets of Baal invoked their gods, and nothing happened. Elijah prayed to the true God, and there was a powerful and precious manifestation that supported the prophet’s life. God literally sent fire from heaven and consumed the altar they had prepared.

Elijah enjoyed it like a child with his toys; all the bad guys were exposed. Elijah lived a moment of great glory and killed all the false prophets.

Jezebel learns that Elijah has killed all her prophets, and paraphrasing, she sends him the following WhatsApp: “Dear Elijah, I have been informed of what you have done with my prophets, rest assured that the same thing you have done with them, the same thing will happen to you in less than 24 hours” P.S. I promise you that this will happen.

Elijah is so scared that he hides in a cave wishing to die. If Elijah had been in a doctor’s office, he would have been diagnosed with depression.

The beauty of this story is that God wants to take his prophet to a higher level of knowledge, and here is the most important part of this chapter.

God calls his son and says: “what are you doing here in a cave?” In other words, you will come out of there now, … and God takes Elijah to the top of a mountain, and the following happens (I would like you to imagine that scene as if you were there yourself and experienced what Elijah experienced in his own flesh). First, God sends a wind so strong that it breaks part of a mountain, then he sends a strong earthquake so that his son experiences what it is really like to tremble, and to top it all off, he sends lightning bolts of fire. I don’t know about you, but I would surely have been scared to death if I had been there.

What is God doing? Reminding his son that Jezebel is a louse, she is a harmless little dog; she is a helpless little bird compared to God. God is doing his son a great favor; He is showing him His power; He wants to leave him open-mouthed. He loves him so much that He has to make room in His schedule to reveal to him what can happen if He gets angry.

Tip of the Day: Look closely at God. The spirit of Jezebel will always want to control our emotions, but we have the Spirit of Christ, who not only empowers us but also affirms in our hearts that we belong to Him.

Prayer subject: Spend a few minutes in prayer, asking the Lord to fill you with peace amid trials and adversities.

Day 3

Scriptures: 2 Chronicles 20:6, Psalms 147:4-5, 2 Timothy 1:7, Revelation 11:17

If you stop to meditate, fear is really idolatry; it is saying to your fear: you are more powerful than my God. Can you see it? Idolatry is not just going after a plaster saint or venerating an image; it is placing something or someone above God.

It is time to confront fear. Call it by name, fear of being fired, fear of being left without a livelihood, fear of being rejected, fear of being left without health, fear of starting the ministry that God indicated, fear of making decisions … and now replace those ideas with God’s truths.

My God is the one who opens doors for me for employment, my God knows how to provide for his children, my God is more than enough to make me feel accepted and loved, my God has my days on this earth numbered, my God is so powerful that he will enable me for the challenge he has set before me, my God will help me through the decisions I must make, my God is in control of everything, and I rest like a baby in his mother’s arms.

Remember: fears are simply lice; they are little birds and harmless little dogs.

Our God is the STORM TORMENTOR.

Tip of the day: Read psalms that exalt our God’s power, greatness, and lordship. This will help you face any threat that may invade your mind. When fears come, meditate on who is more powerful, your fears or your God.

Reason for prayer: To finish this plan, I motivate you to pray according to what you have learned.

I hope this content has been a blessing to you; if you know someone this plan could help, feel free to share it.
