Day 1
Scriptures: Philippians 4:6-7, Psalms 120:1, Psalms 119:41-42
Trust: God Hears Your Prayers
Who are you praying for? What mighty thing are you believing and asking God for? Especially when it’s someone close to you like a son or daughter, a parent or close friend, heavy burdens can easily spiral into anxious thoughts and sleepless nights.
If you haven’t mixed trust into the equation, you’ll forever watch for signs that the situation is turning. Or waver in doubt every time it seems like things have taken a downward turn.
That’s when you must trust the Word of God. You must latch hold of His promises and remember that He is the God who answers prayer!
The psalmist declared, “I took my troubles to the Lord; I cried out to Him, and He answered my prayer.” (Psalm 120:1)
God hears. God is listening and He will answer. Push anxiety out of your heart with the truth of scripture. Latch onto God’s word as you pray for your loved one, and let the peace of God guard your heart and mind. Trust His truth.
Here is a prayer you can pray: “Father, I believe that You are listening and that You answer prayer! I trust You, and I push anxiety out of my heart right now. I ask for Your divine intervention in (name)’s life. I thank You that You are at work, and I receive Your peace in my life. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Day 2
Scriptures: Jeremiah 1:12, Isaiah 55:10-11, Psalms 121:4
Speak: God Watches Over His Word
When you’re praying for someone close to you, it’s just as important to speak the Word of God to your own soul as it is to pray it over their lives. This is a spiritual battle. You must keep up your faith so you can continue to believe for their breakthrough, their healing, their salvation.
Otherwise fear can latch hold. Prayers turn into worry as you imagine the worst of scenarios. That’s when you must remember that God cares. He knows. His arm is not too short to save.
When your faith wavers and your peace is slipping away, speak to your soul! Remind yourself of God’s faithfulness. He is the God who never slumbers and never sleeps. The Bible says that He is watching over His Word to see that it is fulfilled. (Jeremiah 1:12 NIV)
God’s Word will not return void or empty. It will produce good fruit. Declare this truth to your soul and speak it over your loved one’s life.
Take time to seek out the specific promises of God for your loved one’s situation, and say them out loud as you pray. Announce them to every principality and power in the earth that tries to breed fear and anxiety in your soul.
Your faith will grow and over time, the situation will turn.
Here’s a prayer you can pray: “God, I believe You are watching over Your Word. I believe that Your Word will not return empty, but it will accomplish all the good things You have promised. I pray for (name). I speak Your Word of healing and salvation over their life. (Insert a scripture promise here.) I thank You, Lord, that You are at work in their lives. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
Day 3
Scriptures: Romans 8:31, Philippians 2:9-11, Hebrews 7:25, James 5:16
Believe: God Is for You
Can you hear the Holy Spirit whispering to your heart as you pray for your loved one – or even for yourself? Trust and believe.
Believe beyond what your eyes can see. Believe beyond what the doctors say. There really are such things as 11th-hour miracles. You or your loved one may be a recipient.
The Bible says that Jesus is the name above every other name. He is the name above every sickness, every hopeless situation, every bit of depression, anxiety, and fear. He is the Prince of Peace and the One who ever lives to intercede for you and me. He is for you and not against you!
When it feels like all is lost, call upon his name. When the burden for your loved one seems too much to carry, shout His name. Proclaim the name of Jesus over every situation and then believe for the victory. Let the peace of Christ rule in your life even as you fight the fight of faith.
We don’t always see the answers we were hoping for, but you can be assured knowing that God is listening and He is at work! Let the peace of Christ rule in your heart and keep praying and believing. Your prayers matter.
Here’s a prayer you can pray: “God, I choose to let the peace of God rule in my heart and I will not worry. I declare the name of Jesus over (name)’s life. I trust that You are at work even when I don’t see it. Help me to keep praying, believing, and speaking Your Word over their life in faith. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.”
